True, its a shame becuase brady quinn would be well on his way, right?

Brady Quinn couldn't lick the sweat from Andrew Luck's jockstrap. Ted Ginn was such a great pickup though, right?

With the new rookie wage scale functioning, he just might stay for his senior season...we shouldn´t even hope for Luck, Barkley or Landry are the only realistic options right now...maybe the kid from Arizona too

You have Luck and Barkley in reverse. Luck is graduating this year, Barkley isn't. Luck coming back to Stanford, WITH a degree, and having to take out a MASSIVE insurance to protect from injury when he is without question the #1 overall pick is as close as it comes to unlikely as possible. It's not happening.

People really overdo it with how highly rated Leaf was. TV analysts who talked up his big arm were the same ones criticizing Peyton's lack of arm strength. Leaf had nothing upstairs. ESPN draftnik babble aside, when it came down to it the team with the number one pick made the right choice. Luck is an elite prospect. I wouldn't say anything is 100%, but life isn't just constantly stumbling blindly into decisions. Luck is as sound a decision as there is. Beyond that, it's long past time for our team to take an intelligent chance. We've taken two 1st round QBs in our history. They were both HOFers. We've taken none since and wonder why we've had a glaring hole at QB for the last decade.

Why does everyone on here talk about him like he has proven himself to be the next Joe Montana or Dan Marino?

Suck for Peyton Manning makes perfect sense if we KNEW 100% he would live up to his expectations.

This franchise is too predictable, heres what will happen:

1. We do suck enough for Manning and draft him, and he then ends up being garbage like everyone else who has thrown a football in miami since marino

2 We pass on him and this board, hell the whole fan base would $hit and go crazy. Then he would end up being the best thing ever, simply because hes not a dolphin.

3.we win enough games to lose our shot.

So my question is: what if Manning isnt the savior hes said to be on FH

Reread your post with the changes I've made.

The consequences are FAR greater if you don't take him and he's great than if you do take him and he whiffs.

There was a time when peeple said the same things about Peyton Manning. But you'd be avsolutely retarded to pass on that kind of potential. Everyone that steps onto a football field is unproven. Andrew Luck is being called the first can't-miss franchise QB since John Elway.
