I don't think there are many people on this site like this. By the way, I'm a long time lurker first time poster, but it really boils my blood when I hear so called Dolphin's Fans say things like:
"Trent is back, No wait, Gus is back, or is it Daunte? Chad Frickin Pennington, are you kidding me? I just cancelled my NFL Sunday Ticket. I have no desire to watch another washed up qb start for the phins. If Parcells gives up on Beck I think it is time for me to give up on the phins." (From Palm Beach Post)
Sure, you're entitled to your opinion guy. But to me, the Dolphins are much more than this season, or this regime. Its been a lifetime of ups and down and if I was assured that we would stink for the next 5 years...I'll patiently (angrily with frustration!!) wait for the sixth season to relive our past glories.
I believe in my HEART (not in my head) that the Dolphins will pull off a miracle and win the Superbowl EVERY YEAR! This year is no different. So no matter what, I am never ever giving up on the Dolphins (unless they move). It's like my uncle Steve that keeps getting arrested--we're still inviting him to thanksgiving dinner when he gets out. We're waiting for the day he turns it around we, but're not giving up on family and I'm not giving up on the Dolphins.
On a side-note, my opinion on the QB saga is that the Cam plan wasn't that bad--it seems to be the normal formula, he just went about it horribly. You get the best veteran while you develop your young guys. I see no reason why, if Pennington is better than McCown, that we shouldn't use Pennington while our two young guys develop (or show us that they are busts). In fact, I say next year we draft another 2nd round QB or even a first rounder and have him duke it out during Pennington's second year with whoever is left (in my opinion: Henne).
