Just spoke to someone involved in interview process who denies numerous reports, says Hickey will be in charge of roster & be Aponte's boss

Only Philblin and Hickey will report directly to Ross, I'm told.

And this person claims the only "power structure" concern was that the GM does not have ability to bring in their own coach.

My question is, when they have the PC to introduce our new GM and they explain the power structure will ppl believe them or will they believe the conflicting stories?

Who ****ing cares anymore. It's a mess either way. There is no salvaging this trains wreck

Abramson has been all over the place with his reporting.

If that's why those other candidates didn't take the job then I don't see a problem. They were obviously looking for total control, the perfect GM job. Ross has every right to not go with that type of structure.

You care because you've knocked the power play by Aponte since it was reported. Now it may not be true so you don't care anymore.

I wouldnt believe a word they say... Gaine must feel like a complete POS. Im sure he feels like he is going nowhere with this organization and if I were him id start sending out my resume to other teams.

Ex-GM Charley Casserly said it's not that unusual for owner to want control over coach's future. But most top GM candidates want that control

This franchise is now officially the laughing stock of the NFL. Sad........

It has been ever since Ross became majority owner. People like to dump on Wayne, but he was always respected by the league and the media. His ownership times were never even remotely as bad as this Buffoons.

First real good news of the day. Apparently Aponte doesn't have the power some thought she would and isn't "running the show" as some have said. If she reports to Hickey that means she can't veto signings he wants to do.

Every possible iteration that has been reported this far is an unmitigated disaster that no same person can defend.

No matter the structure, this much is obvious, Aponte and Philbin were considered untouchables by the owner, and he would only accept a GM candidate that would accept that fact. That is what one would call true power, and Aponte and Philbin both have that right now.

We lost out on truly talented personnel men because of the power of the DawnJoe hydra.
