Abramson: Soliai in Discussions with Fins

I'm kind of getting an uneasy feeling, ireland is staying. I mean if ireland's main fault is personnel decisions and I am thinking of firing him, why would I continue to allow him to sign players for the 2014 season. Wouldn't be wiser to let the new gm make these decisions? Or maybe ross is making ireland work till the end of the year under contract. I don't it just seems bizarre and I won't be surprised if he is staying.
 
Well this is good news and bad news. Good that we're negotiating with Soliai to keep him here but WHY IS JEFF IRELAND STILL EMPLOYED!!!
 
Ireland's staying. I'm guessing and hoping it's Sherman and turner who get the boot.
 
If Ireland is talking an extension with Soliai, I think we all have an answer on his job status. Jeff is back for 2014.
 
It is possible to keep the GM through the draft and then jettison him. Kind of like what happened in Buffalo last year and when Saban came into Miami.

I like this deal. I am sorry. I like Soliai. I like physical football players.
 
Plus Big Paul was drafted with the Fins, it would be awesome to have him finish his career with them!

Heck no!!!! He has screwed up entirely too many drafts already.
 
I think that is VERY reasonable. A lot lower than I was thinking. Sign on the dotted line, Big Paul and if you happen to eat Ireland in the process, even better!

Here is the possible problem. If you turn out the GM to the scouts, all the work they have done leading into May is gone with them. So you either hire someone that has been following the college ranks or keep these guys on until after the draft.

Canter HATES Ireland and the entire Soliai situation is a huge reason for it because of how bad Paul wants to stay here and how Ireland ignored him. Also under the impression he isn't a fan of Sherman either as he's bashed his playcalling (and Ireland) all year.

More than anyone he really doesn't like the coaching staff. If you read between the lines even a bit, it's clear his clients are NOT happy with the coaches.
 
Here is a idea let a random fan pick for us different fan in wash round! It's better then keeping Ireland and a sure way to improve our rounds 2-4 selections!
