Abramson: Soliai in Discussions with Fins

Not sure I get the keep Ireland through the draft theory at all. If he is replaced, it will logically be replaced with another guy that is currently involved in player personel now. We're not going to hire a GM that doesn't understand the draft or Free Agency (unlike what we have now :)).

Incidently, I don't think our draft from 2012 sucked, but this years is highly suspect and we do not have one single playmaker among all the picks taken in any of Ireland's drafts.

Nice. Theres a great decision maker for ya.. Lets pay the scouting staff a salary WHILE ALSO hiring scouting consultants at the same time. Yeah. Great way to run a business Mr. GM

Yep and he has Dawn working salaries. And Philbin/Parcells in control of which players stay or go. What the **** are we paying Ireland for again?

At the end of the 2012 season we thought that draft wasn't all that great. They stepped up this year and proved a lot of people wrong. I think the same will happen with our 2013 draftees, especially Jordan. He'll start next year.. Taylor will be healthy finally, Davis and Jones will have a year under their belt in the system, Thomas will have time to get into NFL shape, Gillislee and Sims can gain some muscle to sustain a full season in the pros. I think this class will shine next year. Gotta give it a min.

Not to mention our 2010 and 2011 drafts were pretty good. Pouncey, Odrick, Clay, Misi, Carroll, Wilson, Thomas, Jerry, Jones.

If this is true than its probably a sign that Ireland once again is going now where. 5 non winning seasons and he still has a job, just shows u what a buffoon we have for an owner.
I personally don't want any player resigned until we get a new GM but looks like Ireland and his photos of Ross in Thailand are safe once again

I'm loving this i hope he stays to be honest, i don't really blame him this mostly falls on the defensive coaches not getting the best out their players. Ireland is not the coach he doesn't call the plays so its up to the coaches to coach them up.

Ireland is never responsible he just collects a paycheck. Its always someone else's fault. First Parcells, then Sparano, now Philbin and others.

I tell Paul you get 4 mil/year for 3 years or walk.

I will just find the future in another 4th round pick or get another FA up and comer who is younger.

i dont know why anyone would want to bankrole a guy who helped this defense get worse.

I agree he is not Vince Wilfork in any way

Quick show me a 4th rounder in this years draft that can bust up a NFL offensive lineman's double team??

Just pay the man...

He did bring in the players, but it wasn't his fault at the beginning 3-0 or two weeks ago when it looked like we were going to playoffs correct? so how can you blame EVERYTHING on him when we were in a good spot at those points.

when it doesn't work then you want to bring out the pitchforks.

Why would we tag Grimes? That one year contract would be huge. Why not sign him to a longer deal? He proved that he is healthy and the guy is a baller. I think that he should be our top priority in terms or bringing back our own guys. I'd try to sign him to a 3 year contract, minimum. Player's like Grimes don't fall into your lap everyday. Signing him is a must.

It was his fault for the last damn five years. People can be selective all they want but at the end of the day we have not had a winning season in 5 years

resigning would be a good start to what needs to be a stellar off-season. our d-line is stacked with Odrick, Soliai, Wake, Vernon, Jordan, and Shelby. pretty sure this means Starks days are numbered if this deal gets worked out.

i think the franchise tag is a last resort to make sure he doesn't go anywhere. we would still be two months away from them tagging him and that would only be the case if a long term deal is not worked out.
