Absolute Roster Neglect IMO

We don't need to sign anyone out of the garbage heaps. Best thing we can do is bring up Pat Devlin. He knows the offense and is more talented than anyone else available (including Moore). Maybe then we will start winning. Besides, we are not all that bad--"Suck for Luck" is not going to happen--there are a lot worse teams than us.

thats flat out ignorant dude. any qb brought in now is simply a band aid. u think garrard is gonna sign for peanuts? $5 million is an arbitrary number (u can look it up) but i promise u the guy wouldnt sign for cheap. hes a starting NFL qb, and he wouldnt jeopardize future earnings or his health, or an opportunity to catch on with another team next year for a small sum. he was scheduled to make $8 million this year. i promise u he wouldnt sign somewhere for half that.

jesus hell fellas, I'll break it down for you...

first of all, peanuts... would be a small sum... and peanuts and small sum, in theory, would and should sound similiar... however, IF YOU READ and have just a wee little bit of logic, you would have easily understood.... small sum, reflects what you (the OP I believe) thinks garrard would sign on for...

so lets think this through, hes a starting NFL qb, and he wouldnt jeopardize future earnings or his health, or an opportunity to catch on with another team next year for a small sum. he was scheduled to make $8 million this year. i promise u he wouldnt sign somewhere for half that.

still dont get it.. how about small increments...

he's a starter caliber guy, theres a chance he could get hurt, theres a chance another team may give him a shot next year, so why sign with miami for a small sum, possibly get hurt, and ruin a shot with another franchise next year? he was gonna make $8mil, he won't sign with miami for less then $5mil....

whos worse than us dude? I don't see us being clearly better than any team this year. If you were to tell me there are a few teams that are as bad as us, I would tend to agree. INDY, KC, MIA... but I think in that order... (better to worse haha)

It is obvious that Henne could be out at least awhile if not the season. That the Fins FO has not signed another QB to join the roster is an absolute embarrassment to the franchise and utter neglect. By bumming around for the last few days, a potential QB missed out on at least three days of work (and counting) learning the new system.

I do not think it is crazy for a vet QB like a David Garrard to want some guaranteed cash. Pay him. If not, bring in another guy like Kellen Clemens or Jake Delhomme that at least knows the system. Maybe Troy Smith.

What ever it is it stinks of ****-runned operation.

You know you are right Gerrard would bring hope plus a West Coast experience talent to the game we would have compared to a Moore or Henne with his ability to scramble especially with our offensive line delimia. It is apparent IMO that we are not in a win now mind set but a rebuild for a gunslinging passing offense which fits a Gerard talent. Hum. Gun sling compared to run between the tackle offense puts more pressure on your defense which is also part of the problem this year with the defense. There is much more going on behind the sences these days than most fans want to grasp IMO. Ross wants a more exciting passing team expect to see the next coach that can deliver that but expect the defense to suffer a bit because of that style IMO

I'd get Garrard now and at least try to stay competative. If Moore goes down now Bess is our QB. Devlin would be fed to the wolves if he started. No experiance behind a bad line. He would get killed.

Your upset because the team has not found a backup QB with 60 hours of Henne getting hurt??????? When there is still no official statement of how bad Henne's injury is? Jeeeesshhhh...Find a new team to "not-like"

We will see when Garrard signs if he is remotely close to 5 mil. Not even close.

Out of those players listed, the only player I would be interested in is Garrard. But I would rather give Moore a decent chance to
show what he can do, and also develop Devlin. That IMO would be the best scenario that we have available. Who knows, Moore may
play pretty decent & someone may want to make a trade for him. Devlin with development could be a pretty decent, and at worse, a backup to
whoever does start the rest of this year and beyond.

Nobody wants to sign for league minimum. We couldn't pony up the scheckles for a released LT (McKinney) or a decent TE, why would we sign a QB when we have a UFA in Devlin... who's very cheap.

Just for the record, Garrard was not demanding anything close to the 5 mil that you said earlier. LOL. 5 million. LOL.

They probably said no because they told the Dolphins that if they don't sign Shaun O'Hara to replace Richie, as well as a broom to replace Columbo that they wouldn't sign on to play QB for the team.
