I approached veteran wide receiver Danny Amendola recently after practice and asked him one simple question: “What’s the secret to a successful red zone offense?”

He gave me one simple answer: “Score touchdowns.”

If only it were that easy. Amendola speaks from experience, having been a part of a New England offense that was about as good as they come inside the opponent’s 20-yard line, known in football circles as the red zone.

Brady is like Marino, anything less than 6 is a miss...have that step on your throat mentality.

Aaron R, Brady, Wilson, Ben, Brees, Cam, all want and seek the E Zone and are relentless at taking a shot when they can.

Absolutely. And we love to shoot ourselves in the foot by waiting till we have a first and goal before taking a shot. The end zone is super-condensed and heavily guarded in those situations. I'm constantly crying out for us to take a shot from even a little further out where there's more space to get separation

Yup, we've had years with Tannehill where we were probably top 5 in the league between the 20's.

I've always believed that it's easier to score from 15 yards out, than from 8, unless you have an overpowering run game.
