It’s such an impressive sight, Robert Quinn contorting his body so close to the ground, using that balance and speed to get past an offensive tackle, finishing his route to the quarterback with the type of burst you would expect from a top-tier pass rusher.

As long as they stay healthy, Wake and Quinn are going to feast.

(I hope that ends up actually being true this year - seems like every year we have high expectations for the ends and they aren't quite as formidable as we expect.)

Agreed.

However, what I saw from Quinn in the preseason I haven't seen in awhile. The expectation he's created of being able to get to the QB on every passing play. Just as impressive have been the tackle's he's made on RB's.

I would take two of him in a heartbeat because I am a little concerned about Wake and Harris. Harris should've played a lot more in the pre season. The silver lining there potentially is that the Titans might end up seeing Harris for 50 plays without much tape to prepare with. Cameron Wake is a specialist at this point only.

I'd be worried without RQ on the roster.

Yes, we need them to show up in big spots of games. Talent like that should take over the game in big spots and Im hoping to see that.

Definitely. Don't want to jinx it, but he's looking like a really great acquisition. Let's hope it keeps looking good because we've been down this road many times in previous years.

Carolina veteran offensive tackle Matt Kalil is generally considered among the best at his position

Say what now? Evidently he has him confused with his brother, two spots over.

The road to 55....

Wake 12
Quinn 12
Hayes 5
Branch 5
Harris 5
Phillips 3
Godchaux 3
Langford 2
Taylor 2
DB's 3
LB's 3

The more important stat IMO is TFL's because it's the same as a sack. Last year Wake had 11 and so did Quinn. Suh had 9. As far as elite DE's go, the leader of the pack was Chandler Jones (17 sacks) who had 28 TFL's!

1 Chandler Jones Arizona Cardinals LB 28
2 Jadeveon Clowney Houston Texans DE 21
3 Cameron Jordan New Orleans Saints DE 18
4 Cameron Heyward Pittsburgh Steelers DT 17
4 Justin Houston Kansas City Chiefs LB 17
4 Melvin Ingram Los Angeles Chargers DE 17
4 Matthew Judon Baltimore Ravens LB 17
4 Von Miller Denver Broncos LB 17

I normally like to wait till the regular season but I believe there's a good chance that at last, the Dolphins made a great trade. We need Quinn to be Quinn in order to have a chance. In order to get sacks tho we need to stop the run. That will be the key for this defense. If we can stop the run then we'll be able to rush the QB.

I’m just hyped that on passing downs my only thought process won’t be “Come on Wake”. Now there’s a double threat. And Harris? I think he’ll be good too. Just not Wake and Quinn good yet.

Getting to the QB shouldn't be the issue. Stopping the inside run with consistency will be.
