He is an NFL insider and was on WWL 870 radio in New Orleans, he said N.O. is offering 10 mill a year and Miami is offering 7. They are talking to try to close the gap, if they can't Miami moves on and Brees is a Saint. If the 'Phins move up a couple mill they get him. He is very well connected in the NFL.

offer him 8.5....If i was Brees and was serious about winning and not money then he should sign with miami. no way is new orleans ready to compete yet.

At this Point I just want Saban to sign some Qb either Daunte or Drew, lets move in to our other needs, my heart can't take this anymore...

All players are about the money. We are talking about millions of dollars here. He's not a fan of Miami, he has no loyalties there. He's being a good businessman

Brees and his bum shoulder are not worth $10 mil a year....NO WAY....how come we don't even seem remotely interested in Jon Kitna? He groomed Palmer pretty well.....get Jacobs, Croyle, or Whitehurst in 2nd/3rd rds. and let Kitna work it for a couple of years....i mean he had like 3,800 yards and 20-something TD's in '03..... just wondering....

Probably because getting Kitna would just be more of the same thing this franchise has been doing for the last 6 years. Kitna is a stop gap, really no different than Frerotte. It's time to get a real quarterback in here.

I don't think Brees would still be talking with the Fins if this was all a money issue, I think it's clear he wants to win a championship!

we just need to get brees or culpepper...i don't care which one it is...i just want a real quarterback!!

You don't how tired I am of seeing people write this. It is total BS. MANY MANY players around the league, including some of our top player on this team, restructure their contracts every year to make room for other players to be brought in that can help the team win. Hmmmm, taking a pay-cut in order to help the team win? Does that sound like a player that is "about the money"? Don't think so. Taylor and Thomas could EASILY take their services elsewhere and most likely get paid more than they are making here, but believe it or not, there is still SOME loyalty in this league. So, not ALL players are "about the money".
