they showed the standings and Miami was still listed as a wild card contender at 7-7. I read in another thread by NYCphan that we have been eliminated, but is that still true?

(sorry if this has been posted already)

We are officially eliminated when the Chiefs and Chargers play on Saturday. If the Chargers win or tie, they knock us out on overall record (worst possible finish: 6 losses). If the Chiefs win, they knock us out on better conference record (8 wins).

yeah that's what i thought, but when I saw Miami was still a contender according to MNF it got my hopes up a tad. but now I know for sure

They probably ignored the fact SD an KC are playing eachother. Gotta love the ignorance.

It's ironic that this year where we actually have a team on the up-swing in December, we won't be in the playoffs, versus all of those other seasons where we start 7-1, finish 9-7 or 10-6 and just know we're about to get our *ss kicked and have no business being in the playoffs. I guess turn-about is fair play. Just think, if we had won that NE game earlier this year, we'd be in pretty darn good shape right now, and we SHOULD have won that game, no question about it. I am really looking forward to the next couple of weeks - as well as '06!

What if both teams forfeit simultaneously?

Where are we then?

or if Korea launches a nuclear attack on the cities of: Jacksonville, Pittsburgh, San Diego and Kansas City destroying all football teams, players, stadiums, apparel and other various wildcard contender memorobilia ;)

I also saw our 7-7 mark listed on the AFC Playoffs analysis but I know there is no way we can make it....too bad MNF has to continue showing crappy games and blowouts, and then we have to listen to Al and John talking about everything but the game.

It's already been proven that we're eliminated.
