i will say though, that the people who are at the games make some pretty good noise lately.

The Dolphins fan base nationally is outstanding. They have great turnout to road games. The Fin fans that show to SLS have been great. I think the issue for people around here is just want the locals to show up to games and support the team.

At the Monday night game in Tampa.....about half the crowd was Dolphin fans....in my section alone I didn't have a Bucs fan within 3 rows....

Looking at everyone's location on here it seems there is a huge national Fins presence. Maybe a lot are like me and moved away for whatever reason. It'd be awesome to see more fans at games when I watch on TV though.

Not sure how anyone could argue against what this article says, fan support for the Dolphins is extremely poor. Especially locally. Hayden Fox is correct in saying that nationally fan support is good, but when it comes to filling the stadium and supporting them locally, not sure how anyone could deny that Miami takes the award. Anyone who says otherwise obviously just has their head in the sand.

I would also like to say this not a case loving mediocrity or that consistent winning will fill the stadium, it will not. Miami just isn't as strong a market for a NFL team as it used to be. Local Miami fans are not smarter than the rest of the country, they just don't want to support the Dolphins anymore, win or lose. I also think Ross is starting to see this and it is why he is likely considering the Los Angeles option and why he scheduled this team to play in London next year. What better way to scout relocation than by putting your team in that stadium and seeing how the locals support them.

Disagree with this entirely. Miami is a front-running town. You saw it in the Atlanta game when we got to 3-0. The stadium was full. It was loud. Then the wheels fell off the team. Win and they will come. It is what it is. It's not great support, but when the team is good there will be rears in the seats.

I wonder if this is because so many people from the Miami area have relocated. My parents both grew up in Miami, and lived there until their late 20's/early 30's. None of their friends still lives down there. They've all either moved to Central Florida, or completely out of Florida. Our entire family was down there also, and there currently is 1 person still there. 20+ people with spouses and children all moved within like 5 years in the mid to late 90's.

It seems that I read some where a couple of years ago that our televised audience was among the highest.

I have based the rankings on fan football IQ, intensity, loyalty, attendance, and tailgating.

I bet he's never tailgated in Miami.

I bet he's never attended a game either. The attendance may be low but the crowds are always intense.

Dolphins fans are very loyal they just bitch a lot.

We have one of the biggest followings nationally and I would even go as far as globally.

I would like to see how he tested the football fans IQ. How did his IQ fare?

Can vouch for this. Dolphin fans turned out in droves for the Cards game last year.
