This thread is specifically about amazing accurate our new QB compared with the slop that we've had here over the years. First off, Culpepper established an NCAA record for completing 73.6% of his passes as senior at Central Florida. Most QBs can't complete that high a percentage in seven on seven drills. Now, in his remarkable year of 2004, Culpepper completed an uncanny 69.2% of his passes. His career mark is 64.4%.

Now compare that to former Dolphins QBs:
Frerotte - 54.1%
Fiedler - 58.7%
AJ Feely - 54.8%

Wow talk about upgrade. Culpepper was a steal.

As long as minny doesn't call the police, cuz they have just been robbed!!!:sidelol:

64%, And that was with him running around. Now dont get me wrong here, i hope he recovers 100% and scramble like he used to. But imagine what his completion percentage would be if he was limited to running and became more of a pocket passer. Both ways we win.

The one thing I REALLY like about Culpepper is that he only uses the run if he doesn't see the open first down, or if it is a crucial down he will have the smarts to run it himself instead of risking the incompletion. But unlike most scramble happy qbs, daunte is always looking pass first.

Out of interest, what was Dan's career completion %?

Thank you.

I must admit, I don't know much about Daunte, but he sounds like a real steal.

I am excited about what the next few season could hold for the Dolphins, especially in view of our 6-game unbeaten run at the end of last season and the FA moves that Mr Saban has already made.

frirwrip said he didnt know much about daunte....but then he agree'd with your post.....you have to watch the vikings to agree with what you said. if you watch the vikings u should know something about daunte.

I thought Mrcarciero was talking about Dan and how his % completion would have been 70 if the Dolphins had had a running game during his time.

:rolleyes2
