I think we saw Saban's true faith in Culpepper with that 2 point conversion. The Dolphins so-called "smash mouth" football has been replaced with trickery on the biggest play of the game. You take the ball OUT of the hands of your pro-bowl qb so that your running back can THROW the ball???

Give me a break. We have all heard it before. When the game is on the line, the great players want the ball in their hands. Obviously Saban doesn't think that Culpepper is that guy.

Talk about a confidence breaker for Culpepper after a big drive: "Nice drive, now lets see if Ronnie can throw better than you." If Dante makes that play, hugh confidence builder for the rest of the season.

You may be right, but given the way the first 4 games have gone, at that moment, I actually liked the play. ... I still like it. I guess it's my confidence in Daunte too. I felt like we might have a chance when I saw Ronnie take it like that ... I think the play wasn't run right, however - as the announcers pointed out, there were two receivers in the same area.

That play was a horrible call. We are killing ourselves with trick play, specially when we havent got down our normal plays. They should have just run it but goes to show you how much faith we have in our o line. We have been saying this since 1995 in Miami, Offensive line- we need an offensive line but we continue to build on an already decent defense.

that play was just as bad as the choice to kick the fg to get within 8. also sabans clock management in the 4th quarter is horrible this year. it kills me to see minutes just waste away game after game in the 4th.

That call was assenine. Stupid beyond all reason and words. There is no defending it. The playcalling lost this game for us and that play exemplified it. Let your pro bowl playmaker QB throw it, or your #2 pick RB run it. QBs throw and RBs run, basic stuff really. Its fine when its second and 4 from the midfield, another thing entirely when the fate of the game rides on this possession. What are you paying Daunte for if your not gonna let him throw it?

I didn't like the call one bit. Foolish. I think the right call was either bootleg, Brown straight ahead, or lob to Chambers. The Texans were all over the play. And to have the wideouts so close together in the end zone was puzzling.
Overall, the play calling was atrocious.
