Adam Gase on Joe Rose

Can someone post a summary of the interview for those of us unable to listen to it. Thanks!

1. They are going to look at Tunsil at both guard and tackle.
2. Tannehill communicates well with teammates. He is learning the offense. Gase says he will have good game plans and put Tannehill in position to use his arm talent.
3. Tannehill works very hard, including in the weight room.
4. Gase and Vance Joseph coached together in SF in 2008. Gase coached WR's and Joseph DB's. They were competitive and Gase respected Joseph. Later, when Gase was OC in Denver and Joseph was elsewhere, Gase thought playing against Joseph's units were about the toughest he dealt with. Thus, Gase thought when he got his head job, he'd bring in Joseph as DC.
5. Gase likes that he has a group of receivers with different body types, like a basketball team. Gase thinks it will make it tough for the opposition to match up with Miami.
6. Ajayi has separated himself at back and is doing a good job. After that, Gase needs to see in camp who does what aspects well so he can run plays to the strengths of the player (e.g., who runs on the edge better and who runs between the tackles better).
7. Rose asked him about dysfunction such as leaks coming out of the building. Gase said he wasn't concerned with it and would deal with any leaks if they occur.

Since QAM has the Dolphins package, it sounds like there will be much more access to Gase and other Dolphins folks. That's fine because Rose is a good interviewer.

Re: Tunsil - they'll play everyone at every position and see what they have
Re: Tannehill - looking forward to getting into training camp and seeing how far they can go with him
Re: Cornerback depth - too early to say if they have enough CBs - whoever competes daily will be who they go with
Re: Vance Joseph - chose him from working with him in the past - he was a very tough to plan against in Denver then same in Cinci
Re: Most exciting offseason signing - extending Cam Wake. He looks good, but can't say where he is in recovery. Plans on him being ready for Seattle.

Basically, non committal for the most part.

I like that he sees that having different types of receivers is much better than having 6 of the same exact player at WR like Philbin loved.

Eh Gase didn't really say much. Nothing new came out of the interview.

Nice to hear him basically name Ajayi the starter, says the other guys are just trying to catch up to him. He doesn't say much and just does what he is supposed to do Gase says.

I like it alot.

Yeah, but on reflection, at least he didn't blow smoke up anyone. Pretty much said on everything - we're evaluating.

I ope they watch that film, need DE's to set an edge. Need LB's to fill holes and stop the run. If they can stop the run, then it's the ultimate X factor. We don't know what will happen, but if we can turn teams one-dimensional, then maybe Vance Joseph can roll out a defense that can get off the field. That's all we can ask for, as the offense (led by Gase) should be the strength of this team.

When asked what type of offense he envisions re: run or pass, he said the offensive scheme is dictated weekly and will change depending on what the opponent's defense "hangs their hat on".

Putting our players in situations they can succeed and creating mismatches was an alien concept to the previous coaching staff.
