How did this happen?

The Finheaven circus told me he was only here because he was a "yes man", "stay in his lane coach", a "puppet".

You guys said Tannenbaum was a egotistical control freak who wouldn't give up any power.

You guys told me Tannenbaums record getting deals done was BS. Yet were the first team to sign a Coach.

You know what I think, there's a whole lot of you who are full of **** and need to stop looking for reasons to bash this franchise, as if you really need to look for them.

Turn the page with the rest of us. You'll have a lot more fun enjoying the change than crying all the time. Were on the right path.

He is a yes man...he will say yes to whomever Tannenbaum wants to draft.

You know who else had full control over the 53? Hickey. So we'll see.

Agreed.

Some people are negative on purpose so if it doesn't work out they can say I told you so and if it does workout they never remind you that they were on the wrong side of that earlier.

I used to visit these boards back in 05 when the majority wanted Ronnie Brown and nobody wanted Aaron Rodgers coming out of Cal. I also remember in 04 when people said Phillip Rivers would bust because of his delivery. I sat and watched fans complain about players on the team until the day they were let go or traded ie: Brandon Marshall, Vontae Davis, Ted Ginn, Karlos Dansby. I learned long ago this place was full of it. Even with that said I'm not sold on Adam Gase only because of his inexperience as a head coach. I'm sure there will be lot's of learning on job and growing pains in the first year and we know how posters jump on bandwagons.

Doesnt mean he decides on the draft, signings etc. He decides if Sam Brennar is on the roster this week

The question then becomes if people will be patient as they were in Carolina or will the pitch fork brigade want him out after two years...the way did wanted to with Sparano and Philbin.

I swear, if we go 19-0 and bring home a Lombardi, guys on this forum will say, "yeah, we got lucky. Next year we'll REALLY suck."

I wonder if fans of other teams that need some work hate their teams the way Miami fans do.

Everyone is missing the point. The main point is that this new regime is going to be working collaboratively in coming up with a decision.

If someone has to bust out a provision in his contract that he can do such and such, then we have a failing situation on our hands.

Miami is in a good situation right now.

Coaches that have the 53: Belichick, O'Brien, Quinn, Payton, Carroll, Fisher, and now Gase. Lovie Smith and Chip Kelly did previously, too.

....but I thought Mr. T had to have all the power!!! LOL.

Tannenbuam busting myths left and right today.

I would think he wouldn't take the job if he didn't have control of the 53 man roster. Who wants the front office telling you who is active on game day.......

Gosh I hope this is what all coaches are supposed to have control of.Maybe not Cleveland but 98% of NFL coaches have this power.

The 1 thing I'm Super Shocked with is that he is the HC and OC.No OC underneath him is very surprising but guess not by Dolphin standards.

It's not unheard of......there have been a number of coaches that have done this.....and a number who have done it and had it taken away. He will need a strong DC that he can trust

This is a non-story. Tannenbaum actually said he and Grier will control the "in door" and Gase will control the "out door". So his "control of the 53-man roster" is pretty limited to who will be active on gamedays, etc. I'm sure he will have some input to tell Grier and Tannenbaum if he wants to cut someone from the active roster, but it isn't like he is going to making the call on draft picks or free agents.
