[h=4]Ravens or Texans would be fun, but Dolphins will get him[/h] Peyton Manning will end up with the Dolphins. I know, it would be much more fun to consider some dark horse coming out of the shadows, like the Ravens. Or if you're a professional wrestling fan, it would be fun to imagine Manning pulling the ultimate heel turn and signing with the Texans to specifically target the Colts in 2012. Or if you're a delusional Jets fan who likes to pretend that your team matters, New York might make sense. (It doesn't.)

But none of that is happening. Manning will sign with the Dolphins because owner Stephen M. Ross needs to bring some excitement to the franchise, something that having all the celebrity owners in the world can't accomplish. With Ross' willingness to spend the money and a pretty good Dolphins team, the choice here seems rather obvious. Even if there isn't the intrigue and drama in the decision.

We know from past experiences that just because Ross has the money doesn't mean he will get his man. One big plus for Miami though that no one on the sports expert circuit is talking about as a factor is the fact that Peyton and his family live in South Florida. I think this is a huge factor that he could be with his family during the season and live in their house.

More speculation?

Must suck to be Fisher right now huh? Nice decision there jackass. You're stuck behind the 49ers and probably the Seahawks, with a defensive coordinator that will likely get suspended or even banned from the league, and with Bradford who is unproven. Whereas you could have ended up with the Dolphins and with Peyton freaking Manning, you know that guy who used to kick your Titan's ass every season.

This is shaping up to either be the major move that turns around this franchise, or the biggest pie in the face in a short NFL career of pies in the face for Steven Ross.

Too many reports that are saying Peyton is going to Miami really concerns me. Usually the team everyone thinks is going to get the player misses on him.

Problem with that is, if we had gotten Fisher, we wouldn't have a DC either...

Jesus, hearing Rank say that makes me think that there is no chance of us signing Manning. That guy is a clown.

All signs point to Miami. Unless he decides to retire, I would say it is a good bet.
The NY media is doing everything it can to point out different options to stymie the Dolphins, to expand the conversation, but it has no effect on Peyton.
As much as they can try to sell the other cities, Miami is his 2nd home. Ross and the franchise will bend over back wards after all the recent rejections by players and coaches. Ross will get his man. I am convinced he will sign here.
My only concern now IMHO is how do we fit Manning, Wayne, and Saturday under our cap, and who has to be cut or be restructured.
I am thinking Solai - gone.
Bell, Dansby, and Long - restructured.
Will Allen - Gone( He makes 8 million a year?)
Some of those negotiations might get dicey.

I have a feeling he will be a Fin. If so, put me down for at least 3 Fin games next year, and I haven't been to a game in years.

Our QB's (outside of Penny) have sucked hard over the last decade.

if we sign him , im getting my tix early, have a feeling they will be hard to come by

even with manning the dolphins are a distant third in the afc east

only way he signs in miami is if he goes for the money
