Adam Schefter: " Tannehill will be Dolphins starter sooner rather than later "

Matt Moore is a backup QB, and the ceiling of our team with him at QB is 7-9. What's the point? He's a free agent after next year, and won't be here beyond next year. Again, what's the point?

This drivel that Tannehill isn't ready is nonsense. Dude's further along with the verbiage of the playbook than any QB currently on the roster. Not even Luck or RG3 can say that. Give me a break, throw his ass in the fire..

I tend to agree with everything you said. My only concern is that we just don't have the offensive weapons to properly develop an NFL quarterback. I'm not sure if the likes of Brian Hartline and Clyde Gates are going to be able to get open down the field (At all) and that's something they're going to be relied upon to do this year a lot. If your receivers can't get open at all as a young QB, I'm thinking you can probably develop some bad habits like holding onto the ball too long and taking sacks.
Whatever, damned if you do damned if you don't type of scenario.

Based on the analogy that you have to play the quarterback who you drafted as a top 10 pick is where my support for starting him week 1 comes from. Otherwise, the best quarterback should start from day 1 and if that is Tannehill then so be it.
The familiarity with the offense and his knowledge of how it runs will more likely have him starting week 1.

I think he meant it was based off of absolutely nothing.

Anyone who actually wants Matt Moore to start over Tannehill is retarded.

I think we need to give Matt Moore a shot. We arent going to the super bowl this year either way. Might as well see what we have in Matt Moore.

I agree he should not be rushed, but if he become the leader in pre-season, and wins the job, there really should not be any reason to continue to sit him, unless the coaches see something that may hinder him early, in becoming as good as his high ceiling would indicate.

It amazing me that a kid who has not even played a preseason game is being touted as a first day starter. Even Marino did nt start his first game until October. It's only May!

We should not rush this kid. If we do, that's our first mistake with him. Some players are ready to start right away, others are not. No need to ruin his development just for the sake of seeing him play. Patience fin fans, patience.

Technically thats an easy statement to make, How soon is sooner? And how late is Later?

CHUBBYSPN: Chubby is reporting that Tannehill will indeed start this season.

Being a reporter is easy sauce.
Chubbs

exactly, this is no different than any of us saying this. The only reason its magnified is because of its Adam Schefter.

please, just let him sit and learn for a year. the aaron rodgers method worked will in this offensive system. i like garrard and moore for this year

I think alot of people are not seeing the system vs. last year. This team will be more like patriots on O IMO. Spread out and hitting quick hits seeing how the DB's are playing and adjusting. But the reason we have a hard time vs. NE is not Tom Brady. Its the system.

Tannehill should/will pick up the system quickly. Will Moore pick it up? I think he has some skills in that regard but not sure he can handle the rigours of a quick pace with consistency. I see too many mishandles at the snap and such.

He should not be rushed. I would prefer that he sits 2012 and gets penciled in as the week one starter in 2013.[/QUOTE

Disagree I don`t think we have the luxury to wait around until he`s comfortable & ready to go. Not going anywhere this season, he knows
the system, seems confident so why not start him so we can begin to get a handle on his time frame & future here. Owner & fans restless
for a winner so l suspect his time line for success will be less than the norm unfortunetly

It'll probably happen like Christian Ponder last year. If were getting crushed, especially if it's at home, I can see Tannehill getting thrown in.
