On ESPN nfl insider, it says that Miami could be a "potential suitor" for Adam Vinatieri....the only other teams that are interested in him right now are the packers, and patriots (if they want to re-sign him). however it does say that he is likely looking for the largest deal ever given to a kicker. which sucks, but it sure would be handy to have him in a dolphins uniform kicking the game winning field goal against the pats or in another big game that the dolphins are likely to be having late in the season!

I was wondering what thoughts were on having Vinatieri, one of the greatest clutch kickers, as the Dolphins kicker in 2006?????

id LOVE him, but he will be to expensive, and thats the reasom we want to get rid of mare is b.c hes getting paid to much

Vinateri would probably play for the 5 mil Mare is suppose to make. I'll take him!

Depends how much more than Mare. He is bar none the best kicker in the league and it is a vital position. Mare has missed some clutch kicks the last few years, but Im not sure our team is in a position to pay a kicker. I would assume any money we would save cutting Mare would go to more of a 'need' position.

I'd just keep Olindo.

hes not all that much better than mare....for the money we would save by keeping mare we shouldnt get vinateri

If he's not expensive..then I'm all for it..

god no, if only for the mass hysteria and conspiracy theorists thatwould have a field day on his first missed field goal against the pats...

Obviously, if Mare's not here, he's the best option. He's stated that he wants to play in a warm-weather city if he's not with the Pats (check), and he probably wants to play for a good team (check). And if he has a vendetta against New England for whatever reason, this is the place to be to screw them.

But for all the "sure, if he's not expensive" group, he's going to be expensive. His career has earned him a huge contract for a kicker. Ryan Longwell just got 5/10 with a nice signing bonus. Ryan Longwell hasn't won 2 SBs.

I would LOVE for this guy to be a Fin... especially if he was hitting game winning kicks vs. the Pats!

But I dont want to even touch his contract...

I agree...great kickers like Mare aren't easy to come by and if they are there expensive. I'd hate to see us cut Mare and end up getting someone who makes us lose to many games. I seen that happen to many times.
