Add RB Melvin Gordon to the list of #Dolphins visitors today.

Part due diligence and part smokescreens IMHO. I doubt we spend 1st rounder to replace Miller with another speedster. I don't see Gordon as a power back at all.

Barring a trade up, he's likely going to be the best talent on the board at 14. Won't even be close either.

The thing is, he's still a rb. And as Digital points out, we have Miller.

I like Gordon more than Gurley. He has not missed a college game the past three years, and he doesn't try running over defenders like Gurley, which leads to injuries. Gordon has quick shifty feet and rarely gets beat down by any defenders.

Gordon is a smokescreen. Not better then Miller. Dallas wanna trade up for Gordon?

Not better than Miller based on what? Gordon had more yards last year than Miller did in both of his seasons combined at the U (2,587 yds for Gordon - 1,918 yds for Miller over 2 years).

Yaaaa bc college stats translate to the nfl. Miller has better vision and is faster. Gordon only ran a 4.52. Miller was low 4.4s. Miller has ridiculous fast acceleration. The grass is always greener on the other side though isnt it...

If college stats don't translate, how can you compare the two running backs when Gordon hasn't played in the NFL yet? The only way to compare them is to compare their college stats.

Even if Miller is faster, why did Gordon out gain him 2 to 1 if he's slower and has poorer vision?

Watching the film of course. Reading scouting reports. Gordon isnt as fast. And doesn't have much power. Scouts don't see him as a 3 down back. His hands and pass blocking are huge question marks too. He may end up being better then Miller. I don't think the scouting report warrents a 1st

I really like this kid. He looks like Jamaal Charles when he runs except he has a much bigger frame. I have been dead set against drafting a running back at 14 but I may be starting to crack a little. I might be okay with taking a running back in the first round if no one else that I like is available . I think Gurley is the better back by a little bit when he is healthy, but Gordon looks like he is going to be great too.

I do think Gurley is better, but Gordon is not that far behind. Special player. Special kid. Good fit in this offense.

I'm never sold on Wisconsin running backs. Name one that has really made a great transition to NFL. UGA backs.....pretty incredible list of NFL success.....especially when you consider some came in as "just ok" in college.
