I want JT in Camp by the end of this week...:err:
But wait a minute Amando brings up a great point .
About is it worth the trouble or is it worth the playing
time of a player whose a unknown in the NFL .
but shows a lot of Potenial..:hi5:

If you asking me, why can we have both:lol2:
Wake is signed to a 4 year deal.
If Roth or JT as a starter are not preforming
up to expectation than let Cameron take the field
Right now Wake could back up JP.

I can just see it now on 3rd down
NT Tony McDaniel standing at 6"7 if he could hold the point
attack ,and not get push back ,I say Tony could knock down
a lot of pass at the line of scrimmage..
RDE Jason Taylor
DE/DT Phillip Merling- (Holiday position)
LOLB Joey Porter
ROLB Cam Wake -dropping in coverage or the 5th guy attacking the QB

Dreaming.................................................

conversation earlier this week between the the Dolphins and Jason Taylor's representative was polite and inconclusive and so it is correct to say the team is not aggressively chasing the former Pro Bowl player now. But the Dolphins also are not willing to fully close the door on the possibility of signing Taylor, a club source said Thursday night.

So this is where we are: Taylor's representative Gary Wichard is continuing the job of finding Taylor a team to play for in 2009. There is interest from other teams, most prominently, the New England Patriots.

The Dolphins?

They continue to monitor the situation and reserve the right to become more active at any moment. Or not.

This is apparently not an easy decision for the Dolphins because there is more to weigh in bringing Taylor back to Miami than say, signing him for the first time as a late free agent addition.

Bill Parcells has studied tape of every single snap Taylor played in 2008 and came away believing there is still gas in JT's tank -- just not at the same high mark as a couple of years ago. Taylor has indeed diminished, according to the Dolphins source, so there is a serious question about how big of an upgrade he would be over say, Cameron Wake.

Give the snaps to Wake and see what we have....he's the future if he can be that good and JT's done.

Ozzy rules!!

Bring back one of the greatest defenders in team history!

If Wake is good enough, he'll play. He'll have all the oppritunity to prove himself that he needs. Porter and Roth were the starters last year....yet Charlie Anderson and Quentin Moses played enough to prove that they were NOT the answer.

If JT is done, he's done and we don't even need to carry him into the season, we have 13 million in cap space, and he's not going to command a fortune. He was injured all last year, so I'm not convinced at all he is done, and I don't want him to prove that he isn't in a Patriots uniform...helping them win games, helping them beat us.

What if Wake is no better than Charlie Anderson was? Then we go through the entire year with no pass rush outside of Porter again?

Ummm... Tony McDaniel is a DE not a NT. Jason Taylor would not play on the line in our scheme, he would play OLB, and Phillip Merling definitely isn't playing DT. That's not how a 3-4 works at all. If anything it would be Ferguson in the middle, Mcdaniel/Merling/Langford in whichever combination is best at the DE spots and Porter/Taylor/Wake at OLB in whichever combination is most effective.

If Taylor will come back at fair price then why not play in certain situations. Split time between the two until we see what we have in Cameron Wake.

agreed.but his contract will spell out off season lifting, and training programs with the team.if jt cant make it for all the off season stuff.forget it

we need jason taylor. we dont know what we have in cameron wake, and you can never have to many pass rushers. and anyways, if it doesnt work out, we can always trade him to washington for a second rounder. :thanks:

That why I'll Said 3rd DOWN,come on Batmann

IRELAND has already say Tony McD will get a look at NT
I bet if he plays NT, it's only on 3rd Down .......

The dolphins salary Cap is 13 million -5 million (rookies Salary cap)= 8 million

that not counting John Beck salary

We're set up nicely right now having Roth taking the run downs and having Wake pass rush. This will allow him time to develope his skills over time instead of being throwm in the fire. I think it's time to just let JT find a new dance partner so to speak.

JT is a high risk addition to the Dolphins because of his (well-earned) fan base, his age, recent injury history, and desire for the big bucks. If we pick him up, it might preclude making a run for a real stud (Foote?) by locking up too much cash. I don't think the Trifecta really wants to add a declining veteran for a couple of years unless they are really needed to stabilize the position (Pennington). Taylor would just be part of a Porter-Wake-Roth mix. I don't think JT would work as an end in the 3-4. If he could be picked up late and cheap to provide depth at OLB I'd vote yes but otherwise I say go with the status quo.

Exactly, the more playmakers we have on D, the better, as long as JT does not try to take the bank.

great point......

One thing is for sure if JT plays for this regime this year he will be in for one the hardest conditioning programs he has ever experienced. Could be a good thing guys if JT is healthy and in great shape. Could teach the youngsters up front alot of stuff. If the price is right and his attituded is in check this is a no brainer.
