Advertising deal with 790... Way Cool. Way out of Budget...

So, I was talking to David Woolfman of 790 The Ticket. We started talking about packages, etc for training camp. He made me an awesome package that is only available for us... he says that he personally doesn't speak with any other fan site, and nobody else really does either. This could be huge. It costs $5,000. Currently, I can pull together $3,700. However, I'd like to keep about $1,200... leaving me with $2,500. I could do more... if it were in September or something when my personal finances were better, but now they suck. This is straight FinHeaven money. In either case, this type of deal is somewhat a stretch for us... seeing how the site costs $2,700 - $3,000 / year and the money stated above is mainly from advertising deals that come only during the football season (some are annual deals, some are season long deals... you get the idea).

In anycase, I think the advertising "blitz" below is a great plan. I think it could be huge for the site. It would give us a lot of attention and credibility. Moreso the later.

Ideas and thoughts appreciated. If I miss out on this opportunity, it may be the last one of this caliber (cost & length of campaign is GREAT). However, I'll keep on working toward something...

Maybe you could try offering a deal to some of the site sponsors: make full payment by July 24th and receive a 10% discount. At least then you'd have some more money up front.

You could also set up a paypal donation fund. Put it on the main board and let individual members contribute small sums and hope for lots of volume. Not sure how much that would net, but it wouldn't cost much.

Short of that, the best (legal) way to make a couple grand in a very short period of time is probably to find someone who's really good at online poker and stake them. I'm only about half-joking when I say that, btw.
 
I just sent some ideas via PM to you AJ.

I think your best shot is hitting on a big ad deal. I sent some ideas for companies.

I also ask the premies to contribute. I will pledge $100.
 
bah.. im in the process of buying a new house.. all my money is tied into that and I will be eating ramen noodles for a while.. Ths is awesome man!!! Let me talk to Mor911 about this and see if he has any extra cash to donate since he just got promoted. (I think he would be a excelnt choice as a Premium member ;) )
 
Like Mindwarp, I'm also in the process of buying a house, and so disposable income is pretty tough to come by right now. Sorry.

Two of them are Layer1 networking devices and the third is a computer device. can't really spill too much untill the applications are in and I am patent pending.

If I'm a zillionaire or even a millionaire because of it I'm going to buy my mod-ship at finheaven.com and pay for the adds my self how bout that for a deal :-) or perhaps get my self a suite and we can have give aways and such for the tickets to help raise money... ahhhh too day dream!!!

I think it's a pretty good deal. I'm checking with some advertising associates to verify.
 
Dang. I wish I even had $100 to give, but I'm medical billed up the wazoo still from ear surgery.
 
UPDATE: That is a SWEET deal, considering the market size. I wish I could help.
