good qustion? Dont know, definitely not us. We need to get these new guys to gel. Maybe the season after the nest our defesne will be better..
Well we did have top 3 run defense 2 seasons ago b4 we lost our 2 starting DT's and weve got them back now and added big time on DL so im thinking we will be tough to run against in AFC East.

Ok. What about the flip side, who has best Run Defence in AFC East??? Cos thats whats going to win us our division.

good question..

i would answer, but im biased. :D

2004 stats: rushing yards/game Defense:

jets: 97.9 (5th)
pats: 98.2 (6th)
bills: 100.2 (7th)
fins: 143.9 (31st)

nfc east
Julius Jones in the last 6 weeks of the season led all RB's in rushing
Clinton Portis could of had a better season
Westbrook was a threat catching out of the backfield and can run
Tiki the sameway busted alot of big runs and holds onto the ball alot better

Ronnie Brown hasnt even played an NFL Game yet come on

Wow. Not even close.

Jones is undersized and injury prone
Portis isnt half the back veryone thought with out Denver's scheme, and he too is injury prone
Westbrook may be the best out of this group, but again: injury prone.
Barber is 30, undersized, and has had fumble problems his entire career. Managed to turn in a decent year last season due to the fact that he plays in the NFC.

AFC East has BY FAR the best backs in the league. Even with Ronnie Brown.

Curtis Martin - League rushing leader, HOFer.
Corey Dillon - Top 5 RB
Willis McGahee - Soon to be if not already top 5 RB
Ronnie Brown - Unproven but potential is there

Take into account that the defenses in this division are better collectively than any in other division, making their yardage totals less. This is by far the best "running back' division in the league.

What do you think? Starting RB's in the AFCE:
Corey Dillon
Curtis Martin
Ronnie Brown
Willis Mcgahee

Think there's any other division in football that can compete? It's a shame that we have to play each other twice a year and beat up each other's backs. But i think there's a real good chance that all 3 probowl running backs come out of the east this year.

Just figure this picture:
Corey Dillon
Curtis Martin + Derrick Blaylock + Leonard Henry
Ronnie Brown + Ricky Williams
Willis McGahee + Travis Henry

And you really get running explosion in the division.

That would be fun as hell. You guys get Ricky back and Henry comes back to Buffalo. That would make for an interesting sunday afternoon.

well i watched all the bills games. what you read on the stat sheet as a 4 yard run, i saw as a 3rd and 4, 2 yard loss, hit the pile and somehow come out the other side for 4 yards and a 1st down.

he didnt play a whole season cus henry earned the right to start. and when we needed to switch, McGahee stepped up and proved to me why we took him in the 1st round. he proved he could not only play at the NFL level, but also consistantly showed he was a better RB than T. Henry.

you watched the bills vs fins games. you saw him run. he played very well agenst NFL tallent on those 2 sundays.

Dont get me wrong i do think he is waaaay better than Brown at this point. I think McGahee just needs to stay healthy...He is one big running back though

I like the NFC South and NFC North

Bucs: Garner+Cadilac+Pittman
Panthers: Foster+Davis+Shelton+Goings
Saints: DEUCE!!!
Falcons: Dunn+Duckett+ VICK(can't forget him)

Bears: Jones+Benson
Lions: Kevin Jones
Packers: Green+Davenport
Viking: Smith+Fason+Bennett+Williams
