Interesting take on 'Phins, AFC East in this article. Raves about Brown, but basically questions the C-Pep over Brees move-

"WHAT'S INTERESTING: The Miami offensive line under coach Hudson Houck was a strong suit in 2005 and the addition of Shelton at left tackle should make it even better. With Ricky Williams out of the way, the Dolphins can now get to figuring how to best deploy the outstanding Ronnie Brown, who should be a real weapon at running back. The addition of the blitz-happy Capers as defensive coordinator makes Miami that much more dangerous.

WHAT'S TROUBLING: The on-the-rise Dolphins are turning their offense (and, in large part, their chances) to Daunte Culpepper, who is coming off a major knee injury and a precarious slip from very good (64 TDs, 22 picks in 03-04) to awful (6 TDs, 12 picks in 7 games in '05). Culpepper is going to have to show how good he can be without Randy Moss. In a division with defensive-minded coaches salivating at the prospect of defending him, Culpepper is going to have a very hard time doing that. Meanwhile, the Dolphins turned their nose up to Drew Brees, a guy who plays extremely well against Miami's chief rival, New England."

Sounds like that writer is like every other uninformed person in regards to Daunte. What can he do WITHOUT Randy.

But the quality of this offseason rides on Culpeper proving that he's not this decade's Drew Bledsoe?

Yeah. I'm sure the AFC East coaches are salivating at the chances to defend against a guy that just had one of the best seasons a QB has ever had in the history of the sport in 2004, when Randy Moss simultaneously had his most injury-plagued and ineffective season. Yeah. Bet they just can't WAIT.

Everybody says this about Daunte ... but somehow the critics fail to mention the fact that Pep had his best year (throwin nearly 5,000 yards and 39 td's) in a season in which moss missed several gamesyou look at the year in which culpepper WOULD HAVE BEEN mvp if not for manning, Moss posted very mediocre stats = 49 catches for 767 yardsWith all due respect to the not-yet proven Reggie Bush and the injured duece mcallister, WE ARE GONNA SEE WHAT DREW BREES CAN DO WITHOUT AN ALL-WORLD RB LIKE TOMLINSON

Thank you for mentioning Moss's stats for that year, i was going to do it if someone else didnt first.. i think people forget that moss wasnt very effective that year.. he did have 11 or 12 TD's but like you said, he didnt catch many balls and didnt have as many yards as usual. i dont think people do the research before they open their mouths.

yea but he also doesnt have Antonio Gates, cant wait to see what he can do with ....Ernie Conwell??? hahahahaha :sidelol:

This type of thinking leads me to believe that McMichael will have a pro-bowl season...

Remember CPep made Kliensauser a pro-boweler and Klien doesn't have that much talent...

Yeah that is true, but he still has Joe Horn

To quote that article -"Meanwhile, the Dolphins turned their nose up to Drew Brees, a guy who plays extremely well against Miami's chief rival, New England."Wasn't it when New England had like half of their defense missing when the chargers destroyed them in their house

The NFC North wasn't noted for tough D except for Chicago ... the AFC East is a defensive-minded division ... Maybe the AFCE coaches are looking at these stats:

2000--11W 5L--16 GAMEs--474 ATTs--62.7%--3937 YDS--8.31 YPA--33 TDs--16 INTs--11 FMB-- 6 LOST-- 98 QB RATING
2001-- 5W 11L--11 GAMEs--366 ATTs--64.2%--2612 YDS--7.14 YPA--14 TDs--13 INTs--16 FMB-- 7 LOST-- 83.3 QB RATING
2002-- 6W 10L--16 GAMEs--549 ATTs--60.7%--3853 YDS--7.02 YPA--18 TDs--23 INTs--23 FMB-- 9 LOST--75.3 QB RATING
2003-- 9W 7L--14 GAMEs--454 ATTs--65.0%--3479 YDS--7.66 YPA--25 TDs--11 INTs--16 FMB-- 6 LOST-- 96.4 QB RATING
2004-- 8W 8L--16 GAMEs--548 ATTs--69.2%--4717 YDs--8.61 YPA--39 TDs--11 INTs-- 9 FMB-- 4 LOST--110.9 QB RATING
2005-- 2W 5L-- 7 GAMEs--216 ATTs--64.4%--1564 YDs-- 7.24 YPA-- 6 TDs--12 INTs-- 5 FMB-- 3 LOST--72.0 QB RATING

Minnesota only made 2 playoff appearances: 2000 as division champ and 2004 as wild card.
