AFC East Just Got a Little Tougher Again...

I just saw on ESPN that Teddy Bruschi will return to practice for the Patriots as early as next week.

He has got to be crazy to fool around with the condition he had, but I know the Patriots and their secretive ways. They've been sitting on this one, and probably having Bruschi workout and keep in shape similarly to how Ricky was keeping in shape.

Make no mistake, Bruschi's loss was a big blow for the Patriots because their defense philosophy focuses on excellence through the middle of the defense, from DTs, to ILBs, to Safeties...it all starts in the middle for Belichick and Crennel. One of the reasons they were struggling a little was because now without Bruschi, Johnson, or Harrison in the middle, the middle of their D was kind of average.

Now, Bruschi comes back, and their middle gets a heck of an upgrade. It is just too bad that he had to decide to come back before the Dolphins have gotten to play the Patriots even once.
 
You can't judge the guys heart for coming back so soon. Yes, the Pats will have an upgrade, but will it really be a big one?
 
He's making a big mistake. His Dr.'s told him not to do it. He may end up being the first football player to actually die during a game. Bloodclots and strokes are serious business.
 
The guy has the money, the rings, and STILL feels a need to risk his health, even his life? :confused: Why risk the rest of your life, all that time with your wife and kids?

Don't try and be a savior Bruschi, that jobs been taken. :saberfigh
 
This isn't like Ricky's goofy weed problem fiasco.

This was some serious crap that went down.

I don't care who he plays for.

If he has a wife and kids he should hang it up and enjoy his money, fame and Superbowl wins.

Someone needs to remind him that there is life after football and his family and his health should come first.

Because if something happens to him again because he comes back there wont be anyone telling him "We told you so" because he'll be dead. :(

IMO you just don't mess with stroke's, heart attacks those type of things especially when you have it made already.
 
I don't hope he picked the team before his health, I wouldn't like to see him hurt himself. That said, I don't think comming back will impact the league right away. There is a long way from taking snaps during practice to taking them during a game. They will probably start him slow.

Does anyone work in the Medical field on here that understands that Bruschi had a STROKE not a high ankle sprain or something of that nature a STROKE !!!!!! so saying and him doing is 2 different stories it remains to be seen.

It's STUPID to comeback this yr!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
 
Bruschi is a team leader for the Patriots, I don't think Belicheck would put him on the field if he did not think he could make plays. Strokes are very serious, but it is his decision, and i'm guessing he would be medically cleared if he came back.

Yeah, and lets hope he doesn't make his debut in our game with them...that will give them a psychological edge, no doubt...but I agree with you that he is risking more than he needs medically....
 
Bruschi is a special player. Run of the mill LB in many ways, BUT, he's been responsible for several turn-of-game plays every season.
 
hmmm......the pats D is hurting......now he wants to come back.......gee, I bet there is no pressure coming from anyone in the org.(kraft, belichek).....no one knows what goes on behind closed doors.............
