Conceivably, the whole AFC east can be 1-2 next week. The matchups are:
Jags at Jets
Falcons at Bills
Pats at Steelers
Panthers at Fins

Those are 4 tough teams the east faces this week. I don't know if we can but, If we can somehow scratch out a win an preserve our perfect home record, I think we will be alone in first place as I am going on the record and predicting losses for the rest of the east. Additionally, I think even though its early in the season, this is a defining game for the team. Home game after a loss, how do we respond? We are also playing against what might be considered the class of the NFC. We win this, and I think we're for real. We lose, and it doesnt mean the season is over, but how we lose is also a big part of it. We can't make the same mistakes and we cant come out flat (although I think we will never come out flat under Saban, EVER, especially at home)... THoughts?

This could be a real good momentum game for us. Especially since Carolina has such a talked about defense and line. The good news is we will actually be in a legitamate race for a while.

I think we have a good chance.

Can't wait until Sunday.

Final score predictions:
Jags 20 Jets 13
Steelers 27 Pats 21
Falcons 21 Buffalo 7
Dolphins 17 Panthers 13 (if we eliminate the bonehead penalties and hide our OL weakness)

or

Panthers 21-10 (if peppers tees off and we keep putting ourselves in 3rd and long)

Homer picks wouldnt you say ...you have all the afc east teams losing but not us ...except when you said unless pepper tees off

Well i think he is the key to the game as far as we are concerned... their secondary is young and exposable, especially that LB turned safety Davis from Georgia...

Pats are on the road against a team thats 2-0 and they lost to last year in the Reg season, buffalo cannot establish consistency on offense against a decent team (see last week), and the jets are facing a tough team that mirrors themselves (this game can go either way imo, I just love the way the jags play)...

As for us, I refused to make a decision yet, see my original post, but then i made 2 predictions based on our execution in the game... slightly homerish, maybe, but not altogether unrealistic at all.... its not like i picked the browns to beat Indy at indy

It's still early, but it is a bit of a surprise from a divison who many "experts" figured would be the best in football. I thought this year would be a write off for us, but I am beginning to think we can compete right now. Division wins are a must! We must try and take at least 3 from Pats, Bills, and Jets to have a chance.

The Bills will beat the Falcons. No doubt about that. Probably something like 17-10.
The Pats will lose.
The Jets and Jags will be a pretty close game, could go either way.
Carolina has a pretty marginal advantage over us, but that could go either way too. So, by the end of the week, the Pats could be at the bottom of the barrel. Wooohooo.

I can't see the Bills beating the Falcons, didn't you see the Bucs game???
The Jags will want to come back from that awful performance against the Colts, though this game is in NY...
The Pats at the Steelers is a tough call.
We're at home in Miami, 1:00 in Miami in what Black jerseys??? I don't care how hot they think it gets in Carolina, if they wear the black jerseys they will melt!! ( I don't know if it's the black or blue they wear away?)

Jags 24 Jets 21
Falcons 17 Bills 6
Pats 16 Steelers 23
Panthers 20 Fins 24

Jags @ Jets: Jags offense has not impressed. The Jets D will keep them in this game. Will be low scoring and close, but Chad will get something done and a 13-10 win.

Pats @ Steelers: Pats are great at coming back from a tough loss or have been in the past. Somehow, I think they pull it together again and win in the last couple of minutes of the game. 21-20

Falcons @ Bills: Good D vs. Vick? Advantage Bills for being at home, but if they don't contain him, they are going to get burned. Not sure Losman is up for the duties though. Bills win 13-12.

Panthers @ Dolphins: Dolphins D is not up for this if they couldn't stop the Jets. Panthers D is also tough. 23-17 Panthers win.

Projected AFC East Stats:

Jets - 2-1 (1-0)
Bills - 2-1 (0-0)
Pats - 2-1 (0-0)
Dolphins - 1-2 (0-1)

perhaps now we can hear from nyjunc and get his take on how the Jets have all the matchups vs. lowly Jacksonville...

No way the Pats win this game. The Jets may win but if the Jags get their offense on track look out. The Bills should win at home. The Panthers look good but Miami in September is a tough place to play, look for us losing a close one if the Panther starters play the whole game.

IDK know about the rest but if the JAGs can hold manning to 120 yds and NO TD at indy i have the jags winning that game

No way? I am sorry, as much as I want to believe that the Pats suck, they don't. Really. They are good until someone can prove them bad over more than one win a week.

Sure, it would be great if the Pats lost, but I just don't think that the Steelers can keep it up against a powerful team like the Pats.

The Jags look good, but not without a QB. I know he plays hurt well, but one or two hits from Big Abe and he will be sitting on the sidelines. I am not saying the Jets will win on offense. This is the week that the D steps up and puts some money into the pot.

Buffalo stadium is a tough place to play, however as you pointed out, with the Jags stats against the Colts, the Jags gave one away...If Leftwich learns to release the ball quicker, or better yet, if David Gerrard replaces Leftwich (who was limping the last time I looked) they have a good chance to beat Buffalo.

Unfortunately its the Jags turn on CBS (which we share) we, here in Orlando, will not get to see our Fins......just hope that FM radio station covers our game.......(:shakeno: oh the unfairness of it all)........
