Clearly, the Patriots are #1 and still the team to beat. However, I gotta admit I love the way the BILLS are being constructed and in my mind are going to be a force. Especially, if they can get that QB situation squared away!

The Dolphins, sad to say and IMO are only slightly better than the Jets overall.

Thus:

1. Patriots
2. Bills
3. Dolphins
4. Jets

Sure Buffalo has the talent but they also have the same QB question as NYJ. If Manuel breaks out then I'd say we are in trouble ONLY if Tannehill doesn't improve.

If Tannehill puts up 4,000-4,200 yards 23-28 TD's and I'm not worried.

I like how the Jets are being underestimated, slowly but surely we are building a real threat in the AFC. The huge question mark is at QB, if I knew Geno was the answer I'd be incredibly confident but that is TBD as are the QB situations around the division outside of NE.

I mean you could of easily said the same things about the Dolphins over the last 15 years. That is the question for every team who doesn't have a "sure thing" at quarterback. Nothing changes in the division until a quarterback for the Bills/Dolphins/Jets steps up or Brady retires and New England is thrown into the group of teams with uncertainties at the position.

The Jets also basically have the same amount of cap space that Miami, Buf and NE have combined and we have a GM that values draft picks. I love the direction of our team, I just hope Geno shows us he is good enough to win with.

Gents,

The difference is overall talent. It's hard to dispute that in nearly every facet of the game OL, DL, LB, RB, Debatable WR-Nucleus and Secondary, the Bills have the better roster in the ENTIRE division.

What that means to me is that they are only a serviceable QB from being a really big problem. While, because of the lack of overall positive talent at the critical positions, The Dolphins and The Jets need damn near Superman play from their respective Qb's. This is not good and likely says it will never happen. How often do P. Manning's and T. Brady's come along?

This maybe true and only time will tell. After the Patriots(ONLY because of Brady BTW) the BILLS, IMO, are the most ready(overall roster-wise and coaching wise) to take over the Division.

I think the Bills have a nice, young roster but coaching is very much a question mark and they have had nice, young rosters multiple times since the turn of the Century and they always find a way to screw it up so I agree they have potential for a nice future, I don't think anything is guaranteed.

I expect the Jets to be good. I like their additions. I expect the AFC East to be good overall. I don't think they are underestimated, just by biased AFC East people perhaps.

Our LB's and OL's are by far the weakest groups in the division. It will be interesting to see how the Bills develop...but they do seem to be the team most ready to take the Patriot's lead in the division.

Fantastic analysis...we suck thanks for that. What was the point of this thread again?

The way I see it every team in the AFC East has decent talent but not a dominant team. All 4 teams now have good defenses and offenses that are hit and miss.

The real difference makers are the QB's. Brady takes New England and turns it into the clear top team with arguably the worst receiving corps and best OL in the division.

Miami is the clear number 2 because Tannehill is significantly better than any of the other QB's. The major question marks along the entire OL (even Albert has injury questions) may frustrate The offense, but if we get even serviceable OL play we will make the playoffs.

The Bills OL is spotty but they have an exceptional stable of RB’s and lots of talent in their young receiving corps. But, Manuel is still very raw, and both he and the WR's are young. This slides them down on my list.

The Jets have a lot of talent at RB and Decker is a good receiver, but major questions at QB and the other WR's. Their TE is soft and raw. I'm a believer in Rex Ryan as a Defensive Coordinator ... but he has yet to recruit a good Offensive Coordinator and his offenses continue to underperform.

If I had to call it, I'd say:

1. New England
2. Miami
3. New York Jets
4. Buffalo

But, that's not a very surprising prediction.

I agree, I think the jets are are building up, but geno sucks. Jets get a good QB and I'm scared. He'll if you would of had a good QB 5 years ago you would have won a Super Bowl.

Honestly, I don't think it's a stretch to put RB/Running game on that list as well.

A simple question:
Is Tannehill and our receiving group that much better than what the Bills have? If the answer isn't a clear cut YES! Then I'm not sure how you could not rank them #2 behind NE? Heck you even ranked the Jets ahead of them.

Hell, If Tannehill were their QB without question they would be a Playoff team and a legitimate threat for the Division. Interestingly the same can't be said for the Patriots or the Jets....
