Fitz did not have a great playmaking year last year, that doesn't mean he isn't a playmaker just like a great play here and there for Marshall doesn't mean he is a playmaker. He still had 6 TDs(which would be as good as all but 2 of Marshall's seasons) and played w/ the worst starting QBs in the league(they make Henne look like marino).
So at what ypc does one become a playmaker? I need to send in the numbers to ESPN stats.
Sure, but what about Roddy White? He plays with one of the best QBs in the league and he only had 12.1 YPC? What about Reggie Wayne 12.2 YPC? Those 2 are both playmakers and help their team greatly with 2 of the best QBs in the league and had as much YPC as Marshall did last year.
It's not based on yards per but if you average 12 yards per and don't score a ton of TDs how can you be considered a playmaker? I keep hearing about all these short passes he turns into long gains yet there is no evidence he does this consistently.
Last year was the 1st yr White was under 13 yards per, he averages 14.1 for his carer which is pretty good(and better than 12.2, right?) he also had doubl;e digit TDs the last 2 years and has as many TDs the last 3 years as Marshall in his 5 year career.
Your taking Marshalls season last year, in which Henning completely misused him to compar a playmaker? 2 years ago Marshall had 10 TDs with 11 YPC, but you said earlier he wasn't a playmaker then either? so When is he considered a playmaker? When he's off the Dolphins?
Roddy averaged 15 and 17 YPC his first 2 years starting 8 and 5 games respectively, with 29 and 30 receptions those 2 seasons. Since Fitzgerald gets a playmaker discount playing with his QBs maybe Marshall should to? I mean he played with Orton and Henne for christ sakes, I'd like to know what he could do with manning and Ryan throwing at him.
Wow can't believe the patriots love fest on here. Did people forget this was the second year in a row that they got flat out dominated in the playoffs? We have a much better chance of being better than the pats than we do the Jets. The pats wideout core still blows. Ochocinco has 33 is a bad addition to that team. He has lost his explosion and might disurpt the timing of that offense like he did last year with the Bengals. Not to mention, their defense although sightly improved with Haynesworth still isn't anything better than below average. Not to mention if Brady gets hurt or has a down year (he is 35) that team will be lucky to be .500.
The Jets are much better than Patriots. Better defense, better offensive line, better wideout core, and better running backs. A better quarterback does not make all that up.
Jets
Patriots
Us (wouldn't be surprised if we're better than the Pats)

Yeah five years ago. Which means jack ****. We're talking about a team that gets flat out dominated in the playoffs. What they did nearly a decade ago means nothing to meThe Pats WR core sucked when they won 3 superbowls, what is your point?
Because they won with a ****ty wideout core seven years ago, doesn't mean they will now. Yes Welker is a great slot wideout. And Ochocinco is average now, and that's being generous. What's your explanation for them getting dominating in the playoffs the last two seasons? A poor defense and a bad core around Brady is mine.My point is that they don't need elite talent at the WR position (but they do have it). Ocho isn't some slouch lol. I don't think Welker needs any explanation. Do your due diligence before making stupid *** comments.
Just like one down year doesn't remove Fitz as a playmaker, one good one doesn't make Brandon a playmaker. He had 3 TDs over 40 yds which is good, he amde some plays but that doesn't make someone a playmaker. he doesn't score a ton of TDs, he doesn't average a good yards per- he's not a playmaker.
Orton is a good fantasy QB and Henne is nowhere near as bad as the QBs in AZ last year.
Roddy white didn't always have Matt Ryan throwing to him. he had 1200 yds, averaged 14.5 per w/ 6 TDs in 2007 w/ JOEY HARRINGTON as his QB.
