afc east

Marshall is a top WR, a GREAT possession receiver. He'll get a million catches and yds will accumulate but he's not a playmaker.

If you want to disqualify Wayne based on who is throwing to him go ahead.

I am not taking anything away from Wayne, I am showing Marshall had no offense to work with and would've had much more touchdowns with a team that can actually score in the red zone. Marshall 3 great years in a row and had just as many stats Wayne has had in the last 2 years but you still said he wasn't a playmaker, the only thing Marshall didn't have was 1 Y.P.C. that Wayne had

the PAtriots' defense improving doesn't hinge on Haynesworth's performance.

I'm curious, who are your guy's CB?? And how do you feel they will do from last year to this upcoming season??

I also agree that Haynesworth's performance doesn't decide the Pat's defense in a bad way, he can only improve them if he decides to actually play.

While I don't buy the hype of Ochocinco being great as his best years are behind him, having Brady throwing him the ball can't be a bad thing. The question is how he will act with the Pats and continue their silence trend (which goes against everything he does).

Marshall is a huge target, if I am throwing him the ball he should be able to get more than 3 TDs.

Devin McCourty and Leigh Bodden.

Bodden is a good CB; not elite, but good enough to start on a quality defense. He missed all of last year and he'll be a big part of why the D will be improved. McCourty was incredible as a rookie and hopefully can continue his strong play.

I just know how good Miami defense is, I cant tell you what we are going to get from our offense, but last year it was terrible. If it could be better this year I could see us being 2nd for sure.

The Patriots are going to be a better team than they were last year, even though they'll have a worse record, 13-3. The turnover thing they had going on last year was an aberration, that won't happen again. 11 game with no turnovers, they were 11-0 in those games. Including playoffs, 6 games with at least 1 turnover, 3-3 in those games.

The Packers had at least 1 turnover in 14 out of 20 games (including playoffs), and had 10 games with at least 2. They were 6-4 in games with at least 2 turnovers, 8-6 in games with at least 1, 6-0 in games with none. You turn the ball over twice and still go 6-4, you're really good.

Even your Dolphins were undefeated in game where they didn't turn the ball over. Going 1-0. The one game being the first of the season, against the Bills.

My Jets were 6-0 in games with no turnovers. 7-6 in games with at least 1. 1-3 in games with at least 2.

Same should be said for Ftzgerald then right? only 6 touchdowns when he had double digits for 2 straight years? Guess he isn't a playmaker anymore. :rolleyes2:

Besides when the offense this team ran last year there was no go going to Marshall, since there was always cover 2 on us Henning just had marshall go right up against the safety.

i think NE wins the east with miami in 2nd. i dont think the jets will be as good bc of thier o. they arent as strong with edwards and now jerricho gone. and their special teams isnt scaring anyone without smith. i think IF henne can step it up we will be in contention for a wild card spot. hell imho our d is so nasty i dont think we even need the o to score that much. thoughts?

Pats will suck with recently added headcases. Will go 10-6
Jets will eek out division at 11-5 only to lose in afc champ game
Bills 4 wins at best... lost good linebacker, addition of Brad Smith no big Deal Coach sucks
and finally the fins
Another clueless coach, QB. Will win 2 at home and 4 on the road.
Sorry but the truth hurts

i think pats, jets, bills, phins in that order.

We beat the jets and bills twice and pats once, we will go far. Ravens and Steelers do not seem to be upgrading much and dealing with salary cap and losing very good players. At the same time, this team should have beaten Pittsburgh and it really did minus some refs call. This team only needs to improve the O so it scores 2-1 Td's to FG's and we look pretty darn good. We turn our turnover ratio around then this team will be a playoff team.

The Pats are going to be much better this year. They probably won't go 14-2, but they will be better and probably perform better in the playoffs.

That defense is very young and is getting better with experience. They have some good CBs that people seem to forget about. They didn't have Bodden last year and McCourty was just behind Suh for the defensive player of the year award. Wilfork and Haynesworth (if Haynesworth performs well) is going to be dominant and will open up the pass rush for the other players. They have Mayo as a top ILB and a couple ok OLBs. One is very young though. Also, they have two good safeties in Chung (third year I believe) and Meriweather.

Their offense only improved in the offseason and everyone seems to be forgetting their TEs. They had a good enough running game to keep teams honest and open the field for Brady.

The Jets only got worse this offseason. There is no way you can argue that. They replace Edwards with an old receiver who hasn't played in a couple years and hurt himself practicing. Other than that they have who, Kerley? A rookie? They lost their starting RT. LT is older and showed signs of slowing down last year and Greene hasn't proved anything. They lost players on defense as well. Jenkins is out (was never really there :/) and they lost a couple OLBs. They lost Smith and Ihedigbo (however you spell that) who were both vital on special teams. Their pass rush isn't going to be as good as it was last year and they lost secondary depth.

The Jets aren't as good as they were last year.

The Bills will always be the Bills.

If Henne can get it figured out then Miami can be very good this year. Marshall is a playmaker no matter how you put it. He can get it done. The Dolphins, imo, are more well rounded than the Jets. The Jets seem to be a one trick pony and that one trick isn't as good as it was last year.

Pats, Phins, Jets, Bills

Pats,Jets,Fins,Bills

It's early but I would guess 9-10 wins for Miami

I have to be honest, I was really down after the qb trade fizzled but was encouraged
after taking stock of the team compared to last year's.

OC + Daboll has to be at least a slight improvement on (wildcat, wildcat, 3rd and 12 for Henne)
DC Nolan for another year, thank you GOD

C + Pouncey :)
IB + Burnett in, Crowder gone. Edds returns
OG + Carey slides over, good depth too
CB + Allen back, more experienced Davis, Smith and Carroll
DE + healthy Odrick, Merling return
OB + Misi a sophomore, Taylor returns as reserve
OT + went from 2 to 3 starting caliber players on roster
NT + Soliai seems to be in great shape, Fields and McDaniel provide great depth
HB + R+R hit rut, fresh legs and wide open offense likely a boost
WR + added Gates' speed, Moore and Wallace more experienced
FB + Clay adds versatility
S Bell long in tooth but Clemons and Jones learning
QB swapped out Thigpen for Moore, Devlin could have value
TE no change, still in need of complimentary guy

11/14 overall O+D positions have been upgraded, while the other three
have stayed about even. I believe the phins are about 3 upgrades away from SB contention

Mods should frame this prediction...............we can all have a good laugh at the end of the season......Henne and 9/10 wins :(

Does he catch every ball 2 yards beyong the LOS? 12 yards per doesn't scera great YAC to me. He's a great possession guy, not a playmaker.

Seriously! Lol wow... some one please post the video of Marshall manhandling cromatie.. (ok on my mobile)

6 is better than 3, right? 6 is at least respectable for a guy playing w/ much worse QBs than Marshall played w/.

When he went against revis in the rematch how did that work out?

Playmakers are a threat to score from anywhere on the field, playmakers are guys that turn short gains into long gains and make moving down the field much quicker and easier. Marshall is a a guy who is going to move the chains(which is important) but he's not a playmaker.

JUNC

I am really a SHAMED of you. You are the ONLY Jet's fan that post on this forum that I read their post and respoect. BUT are you smoking???? B Marsh NOT a playmaker? Can't score from anywhere on the feild. WOW! You may need to see some highlights of B Marsh. I can think of 4 or 5 plays off the back where he took a 3 yard stop to the house for 50 or something. Then he did it to SD he took a 5 yard comeback to the house. He has screens where he went to the house for 40 50.
You can argue that Miami has not used him as a playmaker YES. But to say he dosn't have the talent is CRAZY!!!!
B Marsh without blazing speed is a complete nightmare for a defense!!!!
Lets get real here folks.
If D-BO can be a 1/2 decent play caller and Henne is a 1/2 decent QB I dont see why Miami cant win the AFC east. Thats NOT me being a HOMER either. Miami has the best D in the east. HANDS DOWN. All the weight falls on Henne / D-Bo / our running backs. We dont even need them to be electric. Just dont put the D in a bad position. Score SOME points and takes SOME time off the clock. Just dont keep going 3 and out.
