Here a Poll For the Unsung Hero on the Dolphins
Roster.......

Who's the Best Rookies ? Long Bess,Carpenter,Landford

Who's Club MVP this Season? Porter,Chad,Brown,Bell.......

Comments Please...

Got to be Chad. He doesn't put up flashy numbers, but just does enough to help the team win. Reminds me of Bob Griese.

It has to be Chad, J.Long is a great draft pick but Chad is the biggest reason were in playoff contention. If you remove anyone of the other guys were still pretty close to the same position now.

The problem with this poll is some of these guys are not unsung. Chad is the favorite but he is getting plenty fo credit from fans and media alike. So he is definitley the MVP. Unsung, meaning no one is giving them the Pub and the love would have to be Carpenter.

Best unsung hero is Jason Ferguson. Without him our run defense collapses.
Dan Carpenter is not exactly unsung, he leads the AFC Pro Bowl vote for kickers and was the AFC special teams player of the month in November

Best signing overall is definitely Chad Pennington.

Not a signing, but you could thank Spoarano for putting Porter back in his proper LB'r position.

No doubt that has helped this defense, but Porter hasn't exactly been a worldbeater since the Buffalo game and we're still 3-1 from that point on.

I'd have to say that the most significant reason we're successful this season has been QB play. So Chad and Jake(for protecting Chad).

Neither of which are unsung.

So the person who said Jason Ferguson I agree with. He's the unsung hero on Defense because we saw what happens when he's out and/or limited in a game (Houston and Baltimore)

Coach Sparano should be on that list as well. I voted for Chad as probably being the most valuable piece, but instilling the team concept, getting them all to work together, that goes to the Coach!

The real unsung hero is Ireland. Ireland showed the Tuna what he could do in Dallas and he's letting Ireland put it on display in Miami. A lot of people really don't know how important a GM who can spot talent is. Coaches get too much credit. Take Belicheat for example. I don't care if he has the final say on the draft. Peioli, I know I spelled it wrong, is the guy spotting the talent. Bill Polian in Indy keeps that team loaded year in and year out. It was Joe Thomas that picked the players for the 72 Dolphins, not Don Shula. Ireland is constantly scouring the NFL for diamonds in the rough. In just one off season he cast off and then brought in the talent to make our team competitive again. Can you imagine what we will be like in 2 or 3 more seasons? Jeff Ireland is the unsung hero of this team.

All of the following mentioned in the poll with Chad being on the top of that list in my opinion, no doubt in my mind. Imagine if Chad had an offseason to practice and a lot more time to completely learn this system? Imagine if he better (and more depth) Wide Receivers to throw to? I've always feared Vs'ing Chad when he was a Jet (and healthy), and knew from the second we signed him that it would be the best pickup we could make if he could remain healthy. He has and so have we as a team (until the last few weeks with the huge offensive losses of Camarillo and Smiley). Chad Pennington, easy schedule, and remaining one of the most healthy teams is a HUGE part why we are 7-5. Regardless of why, we were 1-15 last year and no matter how this season ends... I'm amazed by the improvement and the very possibility of us making playoffs/winning division. I just hope we're in it Week 17, that's all I ask. We keep winning and that's what will happen.

i think porter mvp 4 dophins. Just because he was there before chad doesnt give him less of an impact. If he wasnt there who would put prsseure on QB. Just think our sec is bad, very bad and he making them look little less than bad. Consider what they would be like without porter pressing. I watched Raiders play and their secondary is better than ours and they are getting beat all the time due to lack of pressure.

What about the truck load of money he threw at Wilford, Starks, Torbor, and Anderson. If anything I'd give our Free Agent class a C. It moves to an D- without Chad though. WIthout the presence of Parcells, people would probably be comparing Ireland to Mueller IMO.

Without Chad Pennington and his efficiency this team would be nowhere. He may not be a gun-slinger, or a dangerous passer by any means. But he makes few errors, always makes smart plays, is a great leader, and is the reason this team has a chance at the playoffs.

His draft is an A+. That's the key to building a team. Not free agency.
