After 4 games who's your favorite rookie?

I'm pleased with James' pass protection. But I still am not convinced he is a decent run blocker long term. High draft pick for a one dimensional player at a position where you can fill talent like RT. Maybe he can slide over to LT eventually. If so, I'll be happier.

Several promising rooks ... but it's still too early to tell for me. The to rookie LB's have flashed but haven't done enough to claim a spot in our weak LB corps, so it's too early to say there either.

Landry looks promising as a slot receiver, but he is still finding his way as well. IMHO, adding return duty was too much this year. He still needs to refine his receiving, because the early returns look very promising. He plays like a 4.6 guy though ... smooth but definitely a step slow for a WR.

Aikens looks more at home at safety, but he is still raw.

Honestly Fede doesn't look that much more raw than the big school rookies. He is just behind an incredible mountain of talent along the DL. We have an embarrassment of riches at DL.

I'm a Turner fan ... but he is having the transition issues we all expected, so the jury is still out. Looks like this year isn't going to be the breakthrough year for him. But there is plenty of time.

IMHO, we have a lot of prospects, but none have really proven to be long term answers yet. Fingers crossed.

i don't think it is transition issues as much as it is medical concerns. that said, there will be a learning curve for Turner when he's back.

Not a rookie but jelani Jenkins has developed quite nicely. He's been a tackle machine and is great in coverage, he's definitely guaranteed Ellerbe will be cut at the end of the hear.

You can knock our staff all you want, but they know how to develop young players better than any staff we have had in a LONG time.

Great post man.

Share your vision about coaches. Philbin has been a mess in many functions but is a great talent developer.

Your comment forced me to check highlights of NE, BUF, KC & OAK games.

You're right about he' better as pass protector than at run blocker. Ja'Wuan has shown ups and downs in the running function, and it has impacted in the scoreboard.

Patriots used a lot of retarded blitzes an James created fine running lines on his assignments. Buffalo's talented front 7 proved to be too much for James at both pass & run plays. At Chiefs & Raiders the running game was based on Albert's blocks, but James helped well.

Think this is a matter of development and game planning.

I have a few. Landry and d williams but.... Jawuan James has played better than both and a lot better then I ever thought he would

James has been outstanding for a rookie tackle, he is miles ahead of any of our other rookies
