Even with a 39-36 loss to Denver, the Dolphins know if that if they win out — or even win four of their last five games — they will probably make the playoffs.
But what are the odds they will do that, and beat out a slew of other competitive AFC teams for a Wild Card spot?
At the moment, it’s 35 percent. That’s according to the formula of Mike Beuoy, a sports data analyst who runs the the web site Inpredictable and is a contributor to Nate Silver’s fivethirtyeight.com.

While the Dolphins odds to make the playoffs have dropped to 35 percent, they actually have better odds than two teams currently ahead of them in standings.
Largely due to a favorable schedule down the stretch, the Dolphins have the eighth-best chance to make the playoffs in the AFC.

Imma curb my playoff expectations, will be happy with the qb development, and look forward to next years player additions.

I highly doubt that they'll make the playoffs now, so I'm already thinking about next year. Hopefully, Hickey will add some more talent. Personally, I'm looking forward to a new coaching staff; the only person I'd want to stay is the OL Coach Benton. I'm sick of the lack of a vertical passing game, the refusal to place more emphasis on the running game, and the defense's poor tackling and 4th quarter flops.

After seeing everyone else's schedule I feel a lot better of our chances. The Chargers have insurmountable odds against them. Patriots. Broncos. Ravens. Chiefs. 49ers. Yeesh.

An entirely new offense yet again? This is why it took Alex Smith nearly a decade to turn the corner.

The real headline should read "Computer simulation puts Dolphins playoff chances at 35%. Fans know its much lower than that."

No way dude, the last thing we need to do is start over. Not the biggest Philbin fan when it comes to clock management but these guys like their head coach and play for him. I have strong feeling he's a great communicator with his players. We ride it out another year with the strides THill has made with another draft under our belt.

I don't see us making it to the playoffs but iam optimistic for next year.Because bringing in the right players could make us strong enough to be a force to reckon with.
