After further review, this game shouldn't have even been close

considering the fake punts that Rex Ryan had to desperatley pull off after his offense could not get it going...

The Jets had 309 total yards offense, 38 of those yards came from fake punts! If Ryan punts instead of doing those fakes this game wouldnt have been close. Sanchez was 12-24 (50%) for 172, 87 yards of that came on 2 big plays. Taking into consideration the gift TD the Jets got when they threw the flag on miami at the 1 yard line. That should not have been called, in fact there were several flags that kept the Jets drives alive. Braylon Edwards dropped a crucial pass in the endzone.

This game should not have been close.

Totally agreed. It was thrilling, but The Jets were badly outplayed. More important than gaining 38 yards on fake punts, they garnered 10 points off of those plays. They also had several drives extended by dubious penalties which led to points. The 'leading with the head' penalty was a legit call, according to the literal rules, but was not catchable.
Then the obstruction PI call for placing a hand on the WR literally 0.5 yards beyond the 5-yard limit was very very overzealous; and of course the non-PI on Edwards that set up Jones' go-ahead 1-yard score.
So yes, if not for some badly missed tackles on the punt fakes and some very very loose interpretations of PI, the jets likely wouldn't have been in the game at all.
