I think it's possible our FO (I don't like their move but I try to understand what they did) could want to sign Smith too.

I tell that because Flynn IMo wasn't a sure thing and they knew that + with the brandon Marshal trade I'am sure we will go WR in the first round.

If smith is signed ( they will jumped in an opportunity) and solidify our QB group and add a young WR.

That would not be too bad.

I feel Gerrard shouldn't even make the team so I would sign Smith. I know too much money, one good year, blah, blah. Well Flynn was the right move to make with the options out there to "compete" with Moore, the price was right, now only Smith is left. Like I said, if this was "the plan" they should have just kept Henne here to compete & draft Tannehill. If Gerrard makes the team they have real issues

I dont think Smith is coming here. He has a nice cushy starting job in San Fran....If Miami does sign Smith then we are not drafting a Qb that much I know. But Smith is not going to be a phin.

no, were not going to waste $8 million a year on a mediocre qb, we signed garrad who is solid and will battle moore for the starting job, then we will draft tannehill and let him sit for a year, that is the plan

Hell Brian Hoyer is there also. I know there was some write ups about his potential & he is 26. let him compete instead of broken down 34 year old...

Smith came here to use us for leverage.

We're just getting played by Manning & Smith's agent.

Garrard was pretty effective in Jax, but his injury makes me nervous. If it was his disc, it could flare up again after some grind- if it was like Larry Bird's injury that is. Geez I'm getting old.

I don't think Smith is coming here mate and that is okay with me. He will resign with San Fran as that is best thing for his career - he knows the system, the head coach likes him, he has a great defence to keep games close, Frank Gore and Vernon Davis go a long to making up for the other offensive short comings. He would be a silly boy to go to Miami and essentially start again in a new system with lesser players.

In a word, no. This is a signal being sent to Smith not to come back.

Smith never intended on joining a "rebuilding" dolphins team. He was a play away from a chance to win the SB last year and is just trying to sponge out a little more money out of San Fran. Why would he leave a defense and coaching staff like that to come across the country and play in a very tough division on a team that'd be lucky to be third place....not to mention he'd have to compete for a starting job. No, no way, not gonna happen.
