Dolfans what a great season. Yeah we lost yesterday and it was UGLY. Clearly not the same team that I watched for the past 16 weeks. No moral victory here, we should have played better and I still think if we play the Bmore Ravens again today we beat them. (guess Im just a true fan). Anyway reflection on yesterday and a look forward.

  • I WAS one of the people that said that we will NOT get a big name WR in the off – season. But after watching yesterday it is very very hard for me to believe that. Not due to our WR performance (which by the way was not that great) but in the fact that we only dressed 3. That is 2 weeks in a row that we dress 3 WR and yesterday for a few series it caught up to us. If one gets hurt you know only have 2 and you are VERY limited to the play selection.

  • Look for another sexy draft of OL, DL, and LB. Our O-line was BAD yesterday. But keep in mind since pre-season we never had the right guard spot cleared up. I believe as do many that Donald Thomas is the answer there but now we will have to wait till next season for that. We lost Smiley and from there it has been musical chairs. D-Line we have a lot of potential but right now none of these guys are producing right now. I AM NOT GIVING UP ON THEM. Just saying that a little more depth and competition is needed there. LB we need a strong side OLB that can create some pressure. I think if Channing is looking for big money let him walk however we should sign him and pay him average money like his play. Channing is adequate and you cant address every single positon all at once. Many people here say upgrade him. Well surprise people – Unless your name is Manning or Brady(it kills me to say he is one of the best QB’s in football) you could be upgraded. I like Ayodel a lot I think he is a great fit.

  • Our secondary is GOOD. Some of you think we stink but to play man coverage as mush as we do and other then the 2nd Pats game they performed well. We still need depth there as Nate Jones is not a great cover guy. Goodman showed promise and Will Allen is Will Allen.

Oh and all the talks of the Tune walking. I doubt it. They put the camera on him a few times during the game yesterday and I saw a guy that was focus concerned and interested in how to fix the problem. I think he is looking to get this team into position to be true winners in this division. Hold on people and enjoy the ride.

We still need help at receiver for sure. But we also need ILB help. I don't think Crowder is the answer for us. The position that is worrying me right now, and I thought we had it settled is at center. I am a little disappointed with Satele over the last few games and yesterday he was a revolving door. Maybe it's because without Smiley he is having to do too much. I am not sure, but he hasn't looked that good lately.

well when we cut that giant waste of money wilford i'm sure well re-sign another vet wr. what a bust

The real issue we have is DEPTH. We have had only one draft with the new regime and though it was bountiful the fact is we need much more...

OL - Ok I will say it if no one else will... I question whether Vernon Carey will be worth the big bucks he will surely command... (see Crowder) he had a terrible game yesterday (not alone) as not all of that pressure came between guard and center... Carey allowed seperation and the Ravens opened some lanes on him that you could drive a truck through. He is still young and certainly good but not elite but he may command elite money. Big question marks on the OL as we need more...

WR - Ginn has developed beautifully this year and though he disappears at times we need him. WE do however need another stud, not a developmental project.. We have those in Bess and London who are both going to be good. We need a guy we dont have to wait on and can step in now and raise pulses. But who is available?

DL - Take the immortal words of Pete Townsend 'The Kids are allright'... Langford, Merling, nice depth with Starks... We do need a NT but it is not an emergency... Fergie has still got game and Soliai is adequate in relief. We have more pressing problems.

LB - I think Crowder is definitely serviceable but at what price? (see Carey) But who and how do we replace him when we still need the depth? And where has the pass rush gone? Stop Porter and his 17.5 sacks and you stop the pressure. This IMO is our most pressing need... A pass rushing LB. BP loves him some LB's so I look to acquire a couple of names here... Through the draft and FA.

Secondary - Sign Bell and Goodman NOW! With Allen and Hill... This group really came on as the season progressed... Yesterday they more than held their own as Flacco had all day but did not torch us... These guys played well and have become a quiet strength on this squad.

IMO LB first... OL second... DL third... WR and then the secondary next in order of priority.

i think we might hold off on WRs and DBs in the draft. OL and LB have been exposed yesterday. i think we should try to land a SOLB with pass-rushing skills and another DE/LB to bring into the 4-man fronts. we have barely been able to generate pressure out of the 4-3 alignments. i'm not sold on our ILBs blitzing either.

We all knew the Ravens would pressure our offense. The question was, could our offense execute under such circumstances and maintain their composure. Obviously they didn't. That comes with experience.
They played like a young team.
I am disappointed in CP, though, because he did make poor decisions under pressure and forced the ball into coverage and he also made poor throws resulting in int's.
In a low scoring game like this, there was no need in the 1st half to make risky throws. Better to have thrown the ball away or take a sack.

No offense but I don't think we can take anything out of that game. The defense did well in everyphase but taking the ball away and creating turnovers, granted the Ravens offense isn't really the best so take that all for what it is worth.

Truth is plain and simple Chad blew the game for the Dolphins. Yes he had pressure but their are other options (take a sack, throw the ball away, etc) when you get pressure. The week before on these same boards our fans roasted Favre for turning the ball over now many of the same fans are defending Chad?

I'm not being a hater but I don't think they need to waste much time figuring what went wrong. IMO opinion if Chad has no turnovers we win that game easily. However I just don't think Chad has the ability to spread out a good defense like that and, again, IMO we will see these results vs. the better defenses.

I hope Henne will be ready next year. I think all will be suprised how good our WR's are when we have a cosistant down field threat.

Yes your right and wrong at the same time.
Yes Chad thre 3 picks and yes chad was under pressure but let me tell you having 3 WR dressed and having 1 go down with injury handcuffs Chad. we was very limited in the play calling at that time and with the game well in reach we needed to make a few plays to put pressure on the Bmore O to score points. They packed the box. Stopped the run and played with a single safty over the top of our 1 wr going deep. simple football. I think it is clear that we need a capable WR. or let me say PROVEN WR
