i was like the rest of you guyz last nite and this morning. The qb play had me pizzed off. But after reveiwing the game early this morning on the nfl network. Gus really didn't look that bad. He really didn't play long enough to do anything. But AJ was horrible. Its hard to judge sage when its scrubs on scrubs. Gus actually give us the best change to win. I think Gus will settle down after the season gets going. Next year though we are going to have to ge a high profile player to resolve this situation. We are definitely not as bad as we played last nite. Miami started in the freakin mud everytime gus was at qb. It seem like when we start in the grass we do better. Why? I don't know.

I would not shed a tear if we cut AJ after watching that performance last nite. I think it's about time to move on. What pizzes me off most is that interception for a touchdown. He threw the ball behind the receiver right into the falcons hands. He was pathetic. God i miss marino. ....

Thanks for your imput....Speaking of the mud (assume you meant the area where the Marlins play) my question is this....WILL THE MARLINS HAVE THEIR
OWN FIELD NEXT YEAR? I thought it was a done deal....anyone know for sure?...,,

I'm sorry to say it, but it sounds like your trying to convince yourself more than you really think he did a good job. They were both horrible, and I don't think you can take any good QB play from that game, with the exception of sage, which doesn't really count IMO. I'm hoping that some invisible switch gets turned on with either of them, and we at least get to enjoy a good season. But honestly I think we have to be looking for help next year at the QB spot. It's down right embarrissing to have your first teamers get shut out game in and game out

i agree....gus looks more comfortable running the offense....plain and simple. if he can get the timing down on those deep routes then we will do pretty well...as long as the oline gives him time.

im sorry but ive grown to really dislike feeley...what a waste of a 2nd rounder

he looks like a highschool kid out there and looks like he's gonna cry at times....not my quarterback.

I agree we should start Frerotte, make Feeley our #3 QB behind Sage and then draft Omar Jacobs next year

Sorry Motto, I replied before I finished reading your post. So we agree that these set of duds are not the answer next year. Marino really did spoil us, but even without him ever being here, I don't think anyone would accept the level of QB play going on down here.

i was wondering since you watched the game. we are playing denver next week which use the same blocking schemes that atlanta does. Do you think we will be able to stop anderson and bell running up and down the field on us

Face it, we've got to make the best of this year and go QB shopping in the draft. Didn't see Gus' stint, but how bad could he have been at 2/3 and no ints? Remember also, that I'm sure Nick was playing a very vanilla game plan, not showing any cards. From what I heard, Gus didn't do anything real bad, just didn't do anything special. I can live with that in a final preseason game. AJ on the other hand solidified my opinion about him. Gus didn't move us, but he didn't score for the other team either.

we should be able to stop Denver from running on us, remember that our starters were not playing and we will also be using our D scheme

I can agree with your point islandah, and even some of motto's statement. Gus seems to be more willing to throw it away or take a sack, or even for the love of god, step away from a rush. Things that seem to be too complicated for feeley. But Gus constantly throws too high, or too something. He might be the best choice for the year, but I guess what I was getting at, and seems to be the popular opinion is that none of them is the answer and we need to find the permanent fix somewhere else

And the game plan being vanilla is also a valid point, but I think it's more with the location of passes and just how they look going through the snaps is what worries me. I will agree that gus looks safer out there, but I don't know how much I can blame AJ after what he went through last year, and even for a good part of his snaps last night. They were all over him that same drive when he threw the pick 6

I dont know how you gauge a performance with 3 pass attempts. INTs for TDs have just got to be eliminated. The INT gus threw was downfield.. at least players could attemp to tackle the defender. But those out patterns are gifts for 6.

Like I've said all along. I guess what pisses me off about him other than he TOTAL lack of ability, is he's so ****y about everything. He thinks somebody owes him something. He's about to find out thats not the case. SO LONG AJ--

If you were talking to me Canadianfishfan, I wasn't just talking about the last game, in fact you can't gauge gus from yesterday, but all preseason he's grown a habit of throwing too high You're right though, the return of a pick will kill you, and it can't be easily forgiven. You're giving the other team 6 and most times 7 points without even taking the offense out there. Especially when you have a dangerous defensive unit that could just as easily give you the ball right back. But I don't think you can tell me that gus is the answer. The fact that he's been in this exact system for a couple of years and still is battling feeley should be a good indication of what I'm saying. And don't get me wrong, I'm just as tired as everyone else with AJ, but that doesn't mean I feel any better about gus being under center. I really hope that they make me eat my words, but I'm honestly really worried

I was at the game, and I saw nothing from either Frerotte or Feeley that left me feeling confident heading into the opener. Neither looks comfortable out there from what I've seen....

Sage on the other hand looks like a QB that's ready to move up. He should at the very least be moved up ahead of Feeley, and then if Gus screws up, Sage should start....

LET SAGE LOOSE!!!!

PHINZ RULE!!!!
