Dolphins defensive tackle Jared Odrick says he loves his coaches. Really.Odrick was caught on camera late in Sunday’s 28-13 loss to Baltimore shouting at coach Joe Philbin. He appeared to yell “every week!” while tossing out the f-word.

Odrick said he doesn’t recall exactly what he said, but he portrayed it as minor.
“We all put our bodies on the line and that takes a lot out of you emotionally when you do it day in and day out, and not just on Sundays,” Odrick said on Tuesday.
“There’s no rift, there’s no problem, no disrespect.
“I think between I and the head coach there’s a lot of respect … I love the guys. I love my coaches.”
The incident is believed to have started when defensive line coach Kacy Rodgers subbed Odrick out of the game. Odrick “snapped” according to defensive coordinator Kevin Coyle, and Philbin tried to defuse the situation.

The bad news: Four linebackers weren’t able to participate.

Jelani Jenkins, Koa Misi, Jonathan Freeny and Chris McCain all sat out.

Is this likely a direct result because the guys upfront are too small?

Right.

I'm sure Odrick would also LOVE a new contract and would LOVE to not look like a anti-coach player, and would LOVE multiple team offers in FA.

:idk:

Maybe he'd be left in the game if he didn't take himself out of the play at the goal line when Forsett scored.

Players and coaches are like family. Think how many heated discussions we have with our loved ones, but come back to working with one another. I think things like this are overblown. We want as fans for our team to be all unified and chummy. That is just not the case in any family let alone a line of work.

Separately, I do think this team quits on Joe and Coyle because they never respected him as their leader.

I'm sure that a number of players get emotional and swear on the sidelines. Odrick just got filmed beng critical and Adam Beasley made a big deal of it, implying that Joe has lost the lockerroom. Dez Bryant blows up every third week on the sidelines and it's a non-issue because it happens so often.
I'm beginning to trust Omar's reporting ahead of Adam's. Beasley is the reporter who whipped the bullygate story into a frenzy. Every player and coach needs to understand that Beasley is not their friend. He will exploit anything for the headline or cheap tweet.

I don't think size plays in too much. Our smallest DL is Wake (unless you count McCain and Misi) and he is 262 lbs. All the other ends are in the 268 to 282 lbs range. The DTs are all 300+ lbs unless you count Shelby. Freeny and McCain don't play enough at linebacker for it to be a problem. Misi really hasn't practiced all season. It would be more a problem with the line not executing than it is with size. Although it wouldn't hurt to get a big 340 lb guy like a Soliai or Ngata type.

Sure he may love his coaches, but I bet he really loves his paycheck..

Most of the time, you can't tell if Odrick is in the game or not.

He's got to shave the scruff and just keep the handlebar.
