After signing Solai and Marshall do we have any cap space left??

I think they have about $6 million left, just a guess...but an educated one.

Enough to make another bigger signing but if they do that then some time between now and May/June they'll have to clear some cap room to sign the rookies.

We were $14 million under before trading Marshall. He counted $12.5 million against the cap last year so I'm assuming he would've counted $15 mil+ this year. However I'm not sure of any dead $ from moving him.

Marshall's cap number was going to be $10.2 million. I think we still have a dead cap of $5.5 million for Marshall which will be off the books next year.

Carrying some dead cap is hurting us. Also, Long and Dansby alone account for $24 million (about 20% of our cap).
Paying Long that much money is such a waste when we dont have an Elite QB. Seriously our team was built ass backwards.

If I understand this correctly.. we traded the services of Brandon Marshall for two 3rd round picks AND we still have to take a $5.5M hit? wow... Ireland got skooled!!

Yes. It clears the books starting next season.

Phins carrying around $11 million in dead cap that goes away next year.

One more free agent signing to fill a hole and then the rest will have to come form the draft. Wonder who it will be?

Here's my math. We should be around $8 or $9 million under the cap, but of course it all depends on how the contracts are structured.

Cap space as of 3/12
$13,000,000.00
Brandon Marshall
$10,250,000.00
Paul Soliai
($6,000,000.00)
Richard Marshall
($5,330,000.00)
Phillip Merling
($1,260,000.00)
Lydon Murtha
($1,927,000.00)
Cap as of 3/15
$8,733,000.00

But Doesnt Marshall's pro rated Bonus get accelerated so that $10.25MM is actually around $5 or 6 MM?

Brandon Marshall only got a 5 million signing bonus. He did receieve an incentive bonus last year, but that bonus is not pro rated.

Cool, For some reason i didn't think we saved that much this year for trading Marshall, thought it wasnt till next year that we saw the cap savings.

I read somewhere that if Marshall gets suspended, that comes off the books. Not sure how accurate that is. Any idea?
