The Dolphins ended up with a pass-rushing defensive end who will move to outside linebacker (Virginia Tech's Orion Martin), a defensive end with the size and strength to play in the 3-4 scheme (Purdue's Ryan Baker), a tight end who might have slipped under the radar playing for a Division II school (Central Washington's Jared Bronson) and a guard with good size (Oregon's 6-foot-4, 314-pound Mark Lewis).

None of them might have the impact of Bess, who had 54 catches, or Carpenter, who tied an NFL rookie record by making 14 consecutive field-goal attempts.

I like the Martin pick up i have watched him at Va Tech alot...he has great skills and is a hard worker....def a project guy but has huge upside i hope he makes the PS and gets a chance to continue to develop in this system.

Agreed... I am a student at Virginia Tech right now and I have loved to watch him play since he's been at tech. He's a very hard worker and I don't think I have ever heard anyone say anything bad about this guy. I'm not trying to say he's going to be a Jason Taylor or Joey Porter or a pro-bowler... but I definitely think it was a good idea to give someone like him a shot in the nfl. The sky is the limit... especially after seeing what the regime can do with free agent rookies such as Dan Carpenter or Davone Bess.

I also like the Martin pick-up, being a hurricane fan, he was always a thorn in my side...he has good strength and speed for a big man...i believe he can play end and maybe have enough athleticism to play OLB in a year or two...i would've liked to have picked up Frantz Joseph but I believe the FO likes our ILB situation just fine with the resigning of Crowder and having Ayodele for another year...

I like all four. Look for Ryan Baker to move to NT, he has the size and played NT in college. Martin and Baker become the OLB and NT we didn't draft.
