I think part of the reason he did not replace Johnson was because Sherman believed he was a phenomenal WR. He lead the team two straight years and as a red shirt Freshman in receiving. He would be a second round pick at worse if he would have stayed playing WR. I can see the coaches perspective think he could be an NFL WR and why ruin that. Of course Tannehill believes in himself as a QB first even when leading the team as a WR.

Let's be honest Sherman wanted to win and he didn't groom Tanny but the other fellow - Tanny took one for the team - Sherman's job in part is to get guys drafted makes it easier to recruit obviously but also Sherman wanted to win and win with the guy who was loyal to him - Again it just shows that Tanny has a good head on his shoulders

The thing I like most about the Tannehill pick is that the pick wasn't a safe pick. Tannehill has huge potential with his out throws and his ability to throw on the run. It may work out or it may not but it's fantastic to see them finally take a risk to potentially get a real QB.
