Ahmad Brooks Sack

I doubt he is a SURE 1st round pick in 2007 missing most of last year due to injury and then missing all of this year due to being kicked off the team. With injury and drug questions... he will not go very high in the supplemental draft, my gues is 4th round.

Teams won't have a whole lot of time to analyze him, as when preparing for this draft, he was not on their radar. I'm sure they will have information on him, but not the in depth analysis they give to eligible draftees. As much as teams value draft picks they aren't going to give up a high one for someone with as many question marks as he has, despite the very high potential. Look how far Manny Wright fell in the Supp draft, and there was talk about him being a 1st round pick at one point too.

that has to be the quickest sack in the history of college or pro football. reminds me of a lion or tiger tacking it's prey. he's lucky they didn't hard count though.

It reminds me exactly of the LaVaer leap or whatever those PSU boys call it where LaVar jumped over the whole line and stopped the dude on 4th and inches. Brooks reminds me a lot of LaVar actually

man i don't know how he did that but it was phat we need some1 like him when Zack leaves...and that line should be ashmed for letting Vick get hit like that

Not a chance.

He's a sure fire 1st round talent and if a team wants him in the supplemental draft, they're going to have to give up at LEAST a 3rd rounder. Personally, I think some teams are going to be willing to give up a 2nd to get this guy. He's an amazing talent and I'm not sure even a 3rd rounder would get the job done.

Man I hope your not just changing your stance after one play, even as spectacular as it was. But this guy has talent there is no doubt

well I actually considered the 100's of articles Ive read saying how amazing this guy is.....The sack clip actually was the sweet azz cherry on top.

That sack isn't the only thing in his arsenal, this kid can play.

REmember, Lavar Arrington did the same thing at Penn State. I love the play, I just hope he is more disciplined in his play than Lavar.

I would give a 4th, no more.

I'm torn about this guy. You watch him on the field and there's no doubt, the kid can play. He's making sacks, running all over the place, hitting hard, all the good stuff you want. At times he looks like he's playing against middle school kids and he just dictates what happens.
However (and unfortunately, there is a BIG however), there's a lot of question marks around him. Drug use? Injury rehab? Attitude problems? The guy got kicked off a team in which he was easily the best defensive player, what does that say about him? I think Saban and his boys will have to do a hell of a lot of research to see if Brooks is worth the risk.
Then there's the whole supplemental draft to consider. Last year people said Manny Wright would be picked at least in the second round and everyone would bid for him. Well, we won his rights with a fifth round pick and he was the only player chosen. Basically, the supplemental draft is just... weird. It's possible no one gets drafted, it's possible everyone gets drafted with a first round pick. As of right now, I'd be willing to offer a 3rd for Ahmad but I'd be hesitant. He has a long way to go before he can play to the best of his abilities, and he has to be willing to work at it.
