AJ Feeley vs. Kyle Boller vs. Carson Palmer

yeah, you're right. AJ is much less of an unknown quantity, we have seen him learn far faster than could be expected from one of those 'highly skilled' quarterbacks, and he has progressed much faster, with a worse team. could be that he is much more mentally mature, could be that he has been around (though not playing) an NFL team for a few years. It is ridiculous to compare him to one of those 'highly skilled' quarterbacks, most of them will fail, and it looks like he's going to succeed

Where can I get some of what you're smoking pal? :goof: :roflmao:

guess what? swicth the two -put Feeley on the Pats, Brady on the Fins -and the Pats win. Feeley played against a defense just as tough as ours and outplayed Brady. he flat out played a better game.
did our defense score eleven points in 4 minutes? granted they gave him a short field on the LAST TD, but Feeley made it happen
Holy Cow! You're right! Hey Everyone Feeley played ONE game better than Tom Brady. He's now the savior of our team. :roflmao: Apparently it's easier for Feeley to pick out our Orange jerseys, so I say lets keep wearing them whenever possible. :D

Im not anti-feeley. I'm just saying these guys are physically better, and will have more years from now to show what they are worth. I do not see AJ's progress as being much better than Palmers in his first year of starting or Bollers first year. And Boller has even less to work than Feeley. Ogdan was hurt for a long time this year and his backup was sub-par. Lewis has been off and on. His best weapon Heap has had a broken leg. He is still getting better as the years go on.
Any quarterback is going to show improvement from start to start, what I see is that these two youngsters have a higher celling of potential. Hopefully AJ can continue to improve and be a servicable QB for us for a year or two, but he does not have the ability to be a 10 year franchise QB like these two do. If I'm wrong and he comes out next year and throws 40 td's and takes us to the superbowl, then I'll eat crow. But until then, I'm content with him not throwing interceptions as we turn this team around.

AJ - 10:15, 7 GS, 1.43 TD PG, 2.14 INT PG
KB - 12:10, 14 GS, .86 TD PG, .714 INT PG
CP - 18:18, 13 GS, 1.38 TD PG, 1.38 INT PG

AJ sure isn't looking bad to me.

Agreed, but AJ is not a rookie, he is 28 years old.

Boller was rushed last year because Billick had no faith in Redman, and Palmer is in his first year.

I do hear what your saying tho.

Proven fact: most QB's drafted fail, never even reach the level to give the kind of game AJ gave against the Pats. First rounders, too. Very likely -gasp! -Boy Wonder, Rivers

feeley is 27... palmer is about to turn 25 in 3 days... wow 2 year age difference... boller is actually the youngen at 23...

if you wanna compare him to palmer and boller thats not good, because theyve had way more playing experience than feeley... his college injuries had him barely starting throughout college, yet he STILL was drafted because he has the potential, all he has to do is play it out and develop... not to mention boller has started more games than he has in the pros... and hes started throught his career about the same as palmer with the 4 extra from 2 years ago... and if look at the teams hes not that far off from them...

Feeley did what he had to do to win.
He beat the Pats and he lost to the Bills.
He has improved in every game and he's shown toughness and a great arm.
He has also shown his lack of experience as a starter, the fact that he does not have a proven OC and OL and of course no running game.
Lets face it AJ would look great playing for the Steelers.

If you had to start a team today, and had to pick one of the those QB's as your first pick?

1. Palmer (A no brainer!)
2. I believe it would be a toss up, both Boller and Feeley have been hot and cold, but Boller is younger, so I go with Boller 2nd and Feeley 3rd.

Of course, you would expect that the added years in the league should give him some advantages.

5 starts was it in Philly? Where his main job was run the offense while the Defense and Running game beat everyone up? Being in the league didn't help him much more than Palmer playing against top College Defenses.

I'm just happy that we can compare him to 1st round draft picks.

Good point, but you forgot to mention that Feeley had only started 8 games in college before being drafted by the Eagles, so he had less than a full college (or pro) season under his belt before we got him. He is, for all intesive purposes, in his softmore season as a QB at any level. Based on this fact, and the lack of protection (o=line) and production (runner) I think he is growing at a fast pace.

What is it with fans anymore. Why can't we hype our player without getting bashed.
What has rivers done in the nfl to warrant getting him. (note rivers has a low release point and will get alot of balls sent back in his face.)
I know this is a case of the grass is greener on the other side.
This time I say instead of moving that we water our own lawn.
Keep feeley and let him develope into what ever it is he is going to be before we go after another unknown, unproven qb.
IMO Alex smith is the best NFL type QB in this years draft if he comes out.

Kyle Boller and Carson Palmer are two of the more underrated players in the league. Boller has no WR who could start on any other NFL team and Heap just got back. Favre and Vick get all the publicity for having big arms, but Boller may have the strongest arm in the league, did anybody else see him kneel on the 50 and throw it through the goal posts?

Here's a nice little task for you crazy people.

Compare how OLD Carson Palmer and Kyle Boller are compared to how OLD AJ Feeley is.

Compare how LONG Carson Palmer and Kyle Boller have been in the NFL to how LONG AJ Feeley has been.

Compare the SUCCESS that Carson Palmer and Kyle Boller had in the NCAA to the SUCCESS that AJ Feeley had in the NCAA.

After you've done all that, come back and make a REAL analysis.

Thanks for playing!

Why are you here???? You've done nothing but b*tch and moan and spew your negativity since you got here. Time to use the ignore function again.

As far as you post goes:

1. Boller, 23.
Palmer, 25.
Feeley, 27.
So what's your point.

2. Boller, 2 years, 23 games started.
Palmer, 2 years, 13 games started.
Feeley, 4 years, 12 games started.
Again, what's your point.

3. Who gives a flying pile of monkey buisness about their NCAA careers. It means nothing. Ryan Leaf had a great NCAA career. :roflmao:

Having done the research you demanded, Feeley still looks pretty good.

Thanks for coming out though. :shakeno:
