Ajayi has been traded to Eagles for a 4th round pick

And here’s the thing: All this was done undercover. Ajayi complained to his position coach. And he carried around an attitude around other teammates. But he never took his concerns to the only voice that matters and that’s Gase.

They dont talk? that sounds like some PR crap.

“There’s three of us that are the hotheads of the offense,” Gase said “It’s 14, 23 and me. So it’s a like a deadly combination. We start getting all fired up. All of three of us talked about it, about how can all three of us not get as frustrated when things don’t go quite right? I need to do a better job of keeping my anger under control and they’re trying to do the same thing.”

Serious question, when was the last time that this organization used a pick from a player they traded away to select an equal or better player than the one they traded away?

I guess I will be the minority opinion on this one. I saw this news this morning and I just said "Huh? Okay." You had to figure this was going to happen after the coach called him out explicitly in a press conference stating that he kept losing yards trying to bounce runs outside for a home run instead of following blocking that was there and helping the team get first downs.

We had a historically bad offense through 7 games with Jay Ajayi as our starting RB. Our offense is probably still going to be historically bad without him. It might be worse. Hey, that's a better draft pick!

I'm in the minority too. Although I wish we could've gotten a 3rd round pick, I am ok with this move from a long term perspective (after all, RBs are a dime a dozen). Furthermore, with Jay's knee concern, this is a move that should've been expected. He's not the same RB as last year. Besides being in the doghouse for the reasons you mentioned, he stayed on the injury report every week because of that knee; and I bet he's not able to give 100% on the field because of that knee. They had to sit him during most practices to only watch him on Sundays miss blocking assignments and the few running lanes the o-line created. Let me remind everyone, his knee is bone on bone, and now it's kept him on the injury report weekly, it's only going to get worse from here on out. I wish him well, but he was not going to be the long-term answer.

Wtf... hasn't the criticism with Drake been that he's always trying to hit the home run as well?

yes

drake is bouncing everything and with a whole lot less downhill force

time to hit the reset button on the running back room

The running game rests your defense and opens up the passing game. We have no passing game. Williams is not getting it done and Drake is good for 2 games and then IR. Well get ready for the QB to get IR right away as there is nothing to stop the pass rush. I have kind of wondered if Jay Ajayi made Gase or Gase made Ajayi. We are about to find out how well Gase can really do without his security blanket.

I wonder which 4th rounder it is? They have three. Hope it's not the last one, as that would be more like a 5th. I guess we will find out.

What blocking?

Ozzy rules!!
For real... This guy keeps talking about Ajayi not following his blocking but Baltimore dominated the point of attack and there was immediate disruption on almost every play. There's a reason Ajayi has to eke out every yard after contact.

I like this trade, Ajayi is a beast but at the end of the day he has a knee condition and the later he gets in his contract the tougher he will be to move...if we trade Landry on the other hand I will lose my ****.
Landry has to go. His sideline antics this year are ridiculous. He has become a cancer for the team as well. No matter how good or how bad you are once you become a distraction in the locker room you are out. Plus he was unwilling to renegotiate.
I liked Landry a lot but he missed the transition from excited rookie to veteran player with responsibilities. He might be a better fit somewhere else.

The Miami Herald's Armando Salguero reports the Dolphins are shopping Jarvis Landry ahead of the trade deadline.

Miami has already moved Jay Ajayi to the Eagles, and they could be looking to make another splash. With Landry in the final year of his deal and the Dolphins in no hurry to sign him to a big extension, a trade makes some sense, but it would further weaken an already terrible offense. Miami has until 4 PM ET today to work out a trade.

Ozzy rules!!

WOW!!! I really hope this is just speculation.

I can care less about his knee the dude is a 5th round pick who is a threat on the offense, behind him is nothing l, we have no passing game period. I am glad RT is on IR. Both Cutler and Moore will be joining him soon. Fales will be the QB before the year is out and the defense will be back on the bottom in stats after being on the field to long. You wait till year end to do this.
