Akins Placed On IR

Well that opens up two roster spots. One for Brown and another for a CB.
 
Well that is two years in a row that Akins has been placed on the IR. Hopefully with the two roster space, we can sign Brown and T-Buck.

Brown I think will most likely be signed. T-Buck I would say is 50/50 and Bobby Taylor only has a 30% shot of being signed, since it looks like Miami really doesn't want to talk to him.

good call on Brown....I'm still not as keen on Bobby Taylor....AND I'm going to keep pushing Aaron Beasley (6ft 205lbs so he's got the size Saban likes) until he's signed by somebody. I don't think he's hurt or anything which is why I'm shocked he's not signed somewhere.

I believe this is the 2nd time in two years for Akins. We orginally singed him to like a 4 or 5 year contract also, nothing huge but geeze, this guy's got some bad luck.

I am glad though that we're starting to make some roster moves finally. I said last week this would be the day that a little bit of house cleaning would take place. ie roundtree


Edit IR for a hammy....he must have ripped the thing clean off? :cry:

ya know...I thought the guy was a pretty good sign at the time and figured he's make a good backup safety and a spectacular ST player (since that's what he was known for). But 2 years and 2 straight IR trips, knowbody could have figured that would happen (he didn't have injury issues before coming here).

That doesn't change the fact that it turned out to be a bad sign...BTW I believe he was signed while Wanny was still the GM. Ricky S. didn't get to make those choices until last year I believe.
