DAVIE — New Dolphins receiver Albert Wilson is coming into his own as a 25-year-old in the NFL, but he’s still eager to be mentored.

After four seasons in Kansas City, Wilson signed with Miami as a free agent and joined a wide receiver corps headed by sixth-year veteran Kenny Stills. Shortly after picking up Wilson, the Dolphins agreed to a deal with two-time Super Bowl champion Danny Amendola.

I think it's refreshing to see a guy that's still willing to learn from others. It shows he's not just happy with his new contract but he wants to be worthy of that deal. You have to root for guys like him

It's good someone realizes the wr room is crowded and wants playing time. I just hope he isn't the only one

You can't help but love the Wilson pick up. Belichick is beating the league over the head by using assignment sound players just doing their job. In comes Wilson, undersized to be sure, but with great speed. But it's the work ethic, attention to detail, willingness to learn and help, and constant drive to improve and be what the coaches want him to be that makes this such a great addition.

Sure, Amendola may be the featured slot guy this year, but he's old and has an injury history. Wilson will get his snaps. In time, Amendola will cede more and more snaps to Wilson and Jakeem Grant, allowing us to have game-changers in the slot at all times. Coupled with the addition of the TE's, we have the ability to identify and take advantage of any type of mismatch opportunities that a team has.

Knowing that Wilson will be where he's supposed to be, do what he's asked to do, and help the team come together in the locker room … that provides the coaches one less headache, and lets them concentrate on where they can provide the most value.

I have high hopes for Wilson. I'm not expecting a star, nor am I expecting us to replace Landry with one person's production. But if we let ourselves evaluate Wilson based on his own play, not measured against the shadow of Jarvis Landry, I think we'll be glad we brought Wilson to Miami.

Lol good to see our 26 year old WR being a role model for our 25 year old WR.

I was thinking the same thing. This could be another Branch/Kiko contract that we way over shot on

I still can't get behind the Amendola signing, something just stinks of the whole thing. Who would want to play for a team they have crushed over and over again.

Pure hype. Show me some substance (25pts per game or better) on the field!

Miami definitely has some speed on offense. Wilson, Drake, Stills and Grant. Plus, Gesicki is fast for a tight end. I hope the team finds ways to get Grant the ball more often. It's a small sample size, but when he makes a lot of big plays.

this guy should be in before danny. this guy can play, and runs hard after the catch.

Route running is the key, it trumps speed. It' fantastic to have speed and route running and Kenny Stills provides that. Don' sleep on Ammendola, his experience and his route running ability will quickly mesh with Tannehill. I don' envision big numbers from him, but out the gates early he will be a producer, I do think Albert Wilson will out perform Danny but don' sleep on Danny's intangibles over others speed.
