Alex Marvez blasts Ross / Dolphins over Fisher decision

What's so hard for people to understand about this? Even if you think Fisher would be a bad hire, it reflects badly on Ross that IRELAND was what kept him from getting his target.

i can't believe that we were 80/20 fishers choice per shefter and ross dumb *** decided that ireland should retain absolute power...this stuffs comical

so now whoever comes in has to bow down to ireland on personnel decisions etc...way to go ross...you screwed the pooch yet again...2 years 2 hatchett jobs from you...clown
I'm no Ireland fan but I completely support Ross on the structure. No coach we've ever had that had final say on personnel decisions have done a good job, they've all actually sucked. Wannstedt, Jamar Fletcher, Eddie Moore, Ricky Williams for 2 1st rounders, never drafted a QB, etc. Saban, drafted Ronnie Brown over Aaron Rodgers, took an injured Jason Allen in the 1st round, spent a supplemental pick on a DT that he made cry and didn't last a season, etc. That's just the stuff I remember.

GM having final say is the right move and the right structure...Ireland just may not be the right GM.

Ireland could be fired tomorrow, a new GM put in his place with the same power and Fisher still wouldn't have come here. You're losing focus on the real issue. Fisher wanted ultimate power on personnel moves. He had that power in Tennessee and failed...or he'd still be in Tennessee.

My focus is where it should be, on the fact that my beloved Dolphins to all outward appearances appear to be married to Jeff "Is your mom a whore and can I draft another O-line?" Ireland.

i don't support ross in anything...only thing i can say he's done since he's been here other than open his wallet for a few players which any owner even remotely worth his salt would do is veto his must stay gm from screwing our cap on craptastic kyle orton in trade

Bogus story......no doubt in my mind that Ross is calling the shots on this team, Ireland is just a pawn.....we are the Redskins of the AFC, this aught to be fun.....

He bashed Fisher, but now he bashes the Dolphins for not getting him? :err:

Marvez is revelling in ridiculing the Dolphins at any given opportunity. He said to Sid Rosenberg that 'The Dolphins are a gift that keeps on giving' So yep he is happy to trot out negatives whenever he can. Disappointing.

Marvez bashed Ross just earlier this week for even looking at Fisher and called Fisher "Sparano with a mustache". Which in itself is a ridiculous statement since Sparnao has a mustache. Anyways, now he bashes Ross for not hiring Fisher? Come on now, the one that is clueless here is Marvez. My bet is he had two Ross bashing articles already written. One for if the Dolphins hired Fisher and one if they didn't.

Exactly. I remain convinced that this was a lose-lose situation for Ross. If he got him, it was because money talks and that was the only way Fisher would come to Miami over a "much better St. Louis job." If he didn't, it was because the franchise was a joke and a mess.

I can't recall, but what did everyone say about Atlanta when Parcells came to Miami?

Marvez is garbage. His reporting on matters other than the dolphins is just as bad. During the labor dispute his reports on Sirius were a joke.

Alex Marvez is a retard... If he really thinks that Jeff Fisher should have final say on personnel, and be one of the 3 elite coaches in the nfl that do, then he he really needs to go get a regular job where people don't have to be exposed to his ideas.

Maybe fast food would be a good fit?
