Alex Smith to Miami almost done

Yeah no use getting worked up about this just a rumor to try an drive his price up.. Dolphins are good at helping teams do that.

It may be a ploy to drive his price up in SF, but remember SF drafted a QB last year because they were ready to move on. Don't be too sure SF even wants him back.

oh the backtracking. I think Ireland, whether he is an ass or not, is playing this whole thing wonderfully. he had smith in here sunday morning, which means they were on the phone saturday while talking to flynn. sure cmon in alex! btw, we noticed what you did in the NFC champ game vs. a superbowl team.
 
Listen guys, there has to be a reason why we didn't sign Flynn. If Philbin really thought that Flynn was good enough, they would have signed him. Who would know better than Philbin? Ireland might not be liked in Miami or in NFL circles, however he knows more about personnel moves than most of us. Alex Smith as slowly improved every year and last year had a very good season. I would rather have him than Flynn. Flynn had 2 good games, that is it!!!! One was against Detroit!!! I could have thrown for 6 tds that day!! (not really, but you get the point) I hope we get Smith, draft a receiver in the first round or somehow trade down and get Mike Wallace, then next season do what it takes to draft a real prospect like Barkely. I don't know enough about Tannehill to judge, except that picking him at 8 seems to be reach. However, he does kind of remind me of Flacco when he came out of college, minus the massive unibrow.

As much as It depresses me to admit this, I believe this to be almost a lock. Of all the options left Smith would definately be my choice, but I believe he resigns with San Fran. If I had been Manning this would have been my new home.Tebow is not a NFL caliber QB. None of the rookies will start immediately and play at a high level IMHO.This would leave us with Moore and for some perplexing reason the FO seems bent on replacing him under any circumstance.Garrad was a guy they pursued last year but he turned them down because they would'nt promise him the starting job and could'nt come to terms on a contract.
 
well, its now DONE!!

he has has left miami WITHOUT a contract and headed back to miami. [2:00 az time]
