As you could See this decade our offense was pathetic. Jay Fiedler had by far the longest tenure and most sucessful win/loss record as our starting QB.

Ricky Williams beat out Ronnie Brown because he had better stats for this decade as well as being more dominant during their best seasons.

Lousaka Polite beats out Rob Konrad because of his run blocking prowess. He's also been a short yardage machine.

Our WR's this decade have been AWFUL. Chris Chambers was easy but our number 2 WR was between Booker, Gadsden, Camarillo, Ginn and Bess. Booker had the best stats among these players.

TE was easy. McMichael although never great had a decent tenure with us and easily beat out a weak crop of contenders at this position.

At Tackle, I put our two current starting Players. Vernon Carey has played well here the last 6 years while Jake Long has already made 2 Pro Bowls this decade.

Guard was tough. Todd Perry was a decent guard during our best running years so he makes it and Hadnot was another average player that started along our offensive line for a period of time. A very weak group this decade.

At Center Tim Ruddy makes it. I forgot that he made a pro bowl this decade and you can see that our Line really started going downhill when he left. Since he left this has been a major problem since the only other serious contender this decade was Jake Grove and his 1 season.

On defense I wrote it up as a 4-3 but you can adjust it to a 3-4 if you want. Just move Bowens to NT, Taylor to OLB and Crowder to ILB. This group was A LOT easier to do than the offense but still had some weak spots.

DE's are Jason Taylor and Ogunleye. Trace Armstrong only played 1 year here this decade and although it was great, Ogunleye also had a pro bowl season. Kevin Carter only played 2 years here and never had the impact that Wale had.

At DT I kind of cheated and put Holliday here. He has rotated between a 3-4 DE and 4-3 DT so I put him at this position. He had a solid tenure year and Jason Ferguson was his only real competition. Bowens was an easy choice.

OLBs are Crowder and Porter. This has been a really weak spot this decade. Seau played here for 3 years but was never an impact plus two years were cut short because of injuries. Than you have Derrick Rodgers and Morlon Greenwood as the next batch of players. Porter was by far the most dominant this decade and his two other seasons were still superior than anything these guys did. Crowder's whole body of work is a lot better than the other contenders plus his first 3 years at OLB were better than anybody else's.

ILB Zach Thomas nuff said

CB another easy position. The best CB duo of the decade

At Safety Marion was an easy choice, he was a pro bowler and a game changer while Bell has been a good player for us for the last 6 years.

Specialists were all a given and Ginn Jr. makes it as a RET for his 3 return TD's this decade.

Thoughts???

I would put pennington in over Fiedler too. Also, while I wouldn't jump to include him over penny, Chambers had his best season with Frerrote at QB.

I agree. You could make an arguement for Frerotte as well. That being said, it just shows how bad the QB situation was before Penny/Henne came on the scene.

It has to be Fiedler. After all, he played here so much longer than anyone else and won a playoff game (yes, hounds, I know it wasn't all him.)

I might change the return man to Welker, and maybe honor Ed Perry as the long snapper for old times sake, but this is just about perfect.

Who would be the slot receiver, though? Oronde Gadsden?

Pennington had the best individual season by far, but fiedler was here so much longer and therby accomplished a lot more. If it was just for one season than yeah it would be Pennington, but it's who did more these last 10.

Ginn was in there as a returner because he has the most return Touchdowns this decade for us, simple as that.

Gadsden would be the 3rd WR. Really pathetic on our WR's this decade. If you look at Gadsden's stats starting in 2000, he had two decent years and nothing else but still was our 3rd best WR this decade.

Ed Perry was the LS for 4 years this decade, Denney for 5. Thats why I put in Denney.

I would put Mark Dixon at guard. He didnt have the longevity but thats only because stupid Wanny didnt have a Left Tackle so he put Dixon there.

LouSaka over Konrad?

If you look at the stats, Lousaka has more rushing yards than Konrad did this decade while Konrad was a lot better of a reciever. I think the difference was Lousaka's run blocking ability to me. I think Lousaka played at a pro bowl level this year while Konrad was never really more than average for a couple of years. This one is a toss up though, can't really argue either way.

The problem with Welker over Ginn at the returner spot was the TD's. Ginn has 3 plus he's had 2 or 3 more called back. I think Ginn is overrated as a returner but the TD's still make a difference.

Nice effort. That's a lot of work and I didn't disagree with as many selections as I expected.

Bottom line: That's a horrible team. No wonder we didn't win anything of consequence. An all star team should jump off the page position by position. That one produced yucks from me.

As someone else posted, I'd find a place for Mark Dixon. Very good player, one of the most under appreciated in team history. I'd bump Hadnot, who never impressed me.

Damn, our all decade team is pretty sucky. I guess that's why we haven't won a playoff game in it.

If you looked at the Pats all decade team they probably could muster a pro bowler for almost every position. Sad really.
