Seriously, did Dennis Hickey make any offseason moves that did not immediately translate into improvements on this team?

Bringing in Branden Albert was not controversial, but many of his moves were.

- Unpopular reach in the first round of the draft.
- The only guy who wanted Knowshon Moreno.
- Picking up Cortland Finnegan when he was among the lowest rated cbs in the league.
- Letting Chris Clemons walk for Louis Delmas.
- A draft heavy in small school talents.

Then there are the finds that we never could have expected, like Chris McCain and Terrence Fede.

Etc., etc. I know we are only one game in, but now I'm getting excited to see what we have in the guys we haven't seen yet (e.g., Jordan Tripp)

There's a big part of me that would love to see us get Harbaugh for next season, but now I'm starting to feel likeI would be bummed if DHick didn't get a chance to prove Year 1 wasn't a fluke.

Several great finds out of the post draft rookie FA class.

Solid moves in FA. Some good decent cornfed. A top notch LT. Moreno.

If we post an 8-8 record or better, this staff is not going anywhere.
Apart from not accepting that penalty on the special team play, Philbin managed the game well.
Our oline outplayed the Patriots line, and we replaced every starter.
Our LB's are suspect, but the rookies look promising.
I would say Hickey has done a great job so far.

I feel good for Dennis tonight. Lots of work to do…starting with looking at the best available LB's, but a great start.

He seems like a guy who thinks outside the box, which is why we got a guy like Bill Lazor to be our OC.
