We just traded DANELL ELLERBE and his terrible contract back to Jeff Ireland and the NO Saints. We got back a receiver in Kenny Stills who posted these stats:

63 receptions for over 900 yards and 3 TD's. He's a young receiver on a cheap rookie deal. We've saved some cap so maybe we can resign clay. With this trade we can really go with BPA in the draft as well.

Potential Offense:

Wallace
Stills
Landry
Cameron
Clay (hopefully)
Sims

Aka Tannebaum and the Dolphins means BUSINESS this year. This could be the best potential offense we have had in years if everyone stays healthy.

it took me a second to process it all.... and i thought fine of this big time after!!!

3rd rounder is like drafting an experienced WR this year.. .we get Kenny Stills who yes is still very young and developing. cheap too

but even better is we dump Ellerbe off easy, and save money right away!!! love this move!!!


plus there is no WR in FA worth anything.... lol
 
Love it! Got rid of a bad contract and got an up and coming WR. I don't see the down side!!!!
 
Stills is worth it. I can't believe we got him. This has been such a great week!!
 
what is the cap space look like now since we saved over 9 MILLION smackers with this trade
 
felt we kinda overpaid at first but pretty confident we will end up earning back a pick or 2 here or there draft day.
 
we've saved over 5 million from this trade. Not sure what it does for our cap space though.
 
No complaints here, got rid of ellerbe saved money and basically replaced hartline/Gibson with stills!!!. Dolphins are killing right now

Could have gotten someone who's young and still developing in the 3rd that would have been even cheaper like Tyler Lockett or Phillip Dorsett...but oh well. Guess we'll find out soon enough why Drew Brees didn't get along with Kenny Stills.

I'll take a proven starter at a position we need over a 3rd round prospect any day. We drafted Egnew in the 3rd round right?
 
Meh, we saved several million by dumping Ellerbee in the trade. I'm not too worried about that 3rd round pick. As Gonzo said in the other thread, you're not gonna find a Kenny Stills in the 3rd round.
 
Great trade, we likely would have targeted Phillip Dorsett in the 3rd anyway. Stills is basically a proven version of Dorsett.
 
I LOVE this trade. Excited to see where the Phins go from here with the freedom this just bought them.

Our GM duo is swinging their dongs around big time this offseason.
