Hey guys,

I'm a Global Moderator over at Hockey Futures (in case your unaware of it: http://hfboards.com/index.php? ) and with the ridiculous amounts of Ronnie Brown threads that is just cluttering these boards and making it a mess and forcing legit threads not about him getting pushed behind and lost we have come across a solution that has helped to deal with situations such as this and wonder if you might be interested in giving it a try.

What we do is for example if a big player gets traded, signed or whatever and the board gets flooded with everybody and their mom wanting to start a thread about it, instead of having a dozen threads on the same player or even subject we take the first thread made and retitled it for example "All Sidney Crosby talk goes here" and sticky it. For us here we would do "All Ronnie Brown talk goes here"

And we strictly enforce this policy by emerging all new threads on the same subject into the sticky one and constant reminders that this is where the talk goes, it takes a while but they do get the idea of where to go if they want to vent(which it seems that half these thread are really about).

Just an idea you might want to explore. :)

that would only work if everyone had on shocker collars... ever seen the board during the game? one official thread and two hundred other ones anyway. The mods are fans too and volunteers, what you are suggesting on this site would take a full time guy.

So are we fans and volunteers.

But I do understand that during games are different and there is too much going on, but I'm more concerned about the day after, it's insane how many threads that there are on Ronnie Brown, right now I count six on the front page alone and that's not including the dozens that are after that.

And next week if Gus Frerotte throw five interceptions(and God I hope not) he will be the new whipping boy and we focus on limiting the threads on him.

The thing I hate seeing are when good threads get lost in the mayhem.

all the threads good and bad get hijacked into endlessly repeated argument. There is a refuge in the vip section, we have been discussing this very issue in there and are going to get together there for the next game and have our own game thread. It is free of insults and everyone treats each other with respect.

Oh man, I could never get involved in game threads, I'm alwasy too busy screaming at the TV and chain smoking. :shakeno:

But thanks man, I'll keep that in mind for the halftimes.

My goodness man!!! your board has like a 1 to 50 mod to poster ratio! we have like a 1 to 1000 ratio here!
